I have written and published four books on Amazon: articles on climbing and mountaineering; a Western; a historical fiction about Tasmanian convict cannibals; and a non-fiction about an expedition to K2. Beta reading

I spent a few days reading two novels from writers on Goodreads who wanted beta readers to give them feedback.

What a great experience. Two writers with enormous potential.

One a completed sci-fi/alternate future novel that needs a few tweeks. I thought it would be a struggle but it held me to the end with excellent writing and a plot that kept twisting.
