Try to structure you story ahead of writing it. First answer the "why." Why do you want to tell this story? Then think of the story arc and how you want to intrigue the readers to go to the next chapter. Also, write a lot. Even if its short stories, or family tales, or descriptions of a place you went. Then read what you write. Does your writing reflect your voice, or do you need to practice more. Write, and read other writers in your genres. Then just write. Don't let fear of failure stop you. Write because you HAVE to tell the story!(less)
