Sepehr Haddad is an author and recording artist. His latest historical fiction novel, "The Harmless Necessary Cat," is a World War II Family Saga set in Allied-occupied Iran. She insisted that I write the story since she found it to be unique. I started writing "A Hundred Sweet Promises" in 2015 after I retired from working with the Environmental Protection Agency. It took me 6 years to finish the novel.(less)

May I share a memory? In 1979 as a freshman at Georgia Tech I took the job of preparing students for the TOEFL. My class was full of young Iranian men! I was 18 years old! The language and culture barrier between us was darn near opaque, there were a few pranksters in the class. One day they were scared, agitated, the next day gone! I always wondered how they fared. Thank you for sharing this story.
