Maureen at a personal celebration this past weekend, where she celebrated her appointment to the Order of Canada with friends and family at The Old Mill in Toronto.

We’re thrilled to announce that Maureen Jennings has been appointed by the Canadian Governor-General Mary Simon as an Officer to the Order of Canada.

The Order of Canada is one of Canada’s highest honours. It recognizes people across all sectors of society who have made extraordinary and sustained contributions to our nation.

“Her works explore important aspects of Canadian history, especially women’s roles during the Second World War,” her notice says, adding Ms. Jennings has been a mentor to fellow writers.

Maureen Jennings was recently honoured with the 2024 Grandmaster Lifetime Achievement Award from Crime Writers of Canada.  Maureen was acknowledged for her long term contribution to Canadian and International Mystery writing,

This prestigious award recognizes her long-term contribution to Canadian and international mystery writing.

Established in 2014, the Grand Master Award is given to a Canadian crime writer with a substantial body of work that has garnered national and international recognition.

A spin off from the show, MACY MURDOCH is now streaming on CBC Gem. It is aimed at the ’tween’ generation but is aa delight for any age. Macy is a descendant of William Murdoch and travels back in time to help rescue him from a miscarriage of justice.
