Positive Review on "Oh Bless It!" website

It's wonderful and encouraging to receive a positive review! Check out this one for Notes in the Night at "Oh Bless It!" While you're there, take the time to read some of her other posts. Lots of worthwhile spiritual encouragement there!

A Rough Start

The reality is that our plans don't always unfold as expected. I felt a little deflated when on the expected launch date of Notes in the Night, the paperback version was still not available.

Finally, a week later, after plenty of back and forth with KDP and a couple of adjustments to the cover file, it was published.

Since it's a middle-grade novel, I knew that most buyers would be more inclined to purchase a paperback. Correct me if I'm wrong, but most children want a physical book in hand.

I know that my reading format of choice is still a physical book. Maybe I'm behind the times! :) Much of life these days is focused on a screen, so I enjoy the break from that. I think kids are craving this break as well!

A customer sent me a photo of her holding my book yesterday and it was a great relief to see that my book was truly getting into the hands of readers!

Keep up with my journey here and on Facebook at: https://www.facebook.com/Valleywriter

Have a lovely weekend everyone!

Counting Down!

Next Tuesday, May 4th, is the release date for Notes in the Night! I can't believe the learning I've done in the last year. Website, author Facebook page, Instagram, Goodreads, KDP publishing. The list goes on and on!

My last hurdle has been finalizing the book cover. After receiving a proof copy that did not showcase the colors on the cover properly, I've enlisted the help of a professional book designer.

I'm proud of the finished product, and I've enjoyed receiving feedback from children and adults alike who have read it. Here is some special feedback from our local children's librarian:

Intriguing, funny, and inspiring! I highly recommend Notes in the Night for readers ages 8 – 12, as an introduction into Chapter Books and as a family read-aloud. Looking forward to the next Becky Lawson Mystery!

Encouraging First Review!

Hello Readers!

I was so pleased to receive this lovely review from Crystal Bowman who was very kind to take the time to read an advanced copy of Notes in the Night!

"When curious girls go to a music camp for a week, things happen! This fast-moving, well written story will have readers turning pages to see what happens next. Mystery, friendships, and mischief blend together for a fun, creative story. Biblical and moral messages are gently woven into the storyline without being forced or preachy. I received a complimentary PDF copy in exchange for an honest review. I hope there will be a sequel because I want to find out what happens when the girls return to Melody Lane Music Camp."

Crystal Bowman—bestselling award-winning author of more than 100 books for children including Our Daily Bread for Kids.
