An Irish Prayer

May God give you…
For every storm, a rainbow.  For every tear, a smile.

For every promise, a care and a blessing for each trial.

For every problem life sends, a faithful friend to share.

For every sigh, a sweet song and an answer to each prayer.

Wishing everyone a fabulous finish to 2024 and a sensational start to 2025.  Remember to raise your left leg as the countdown begins, that way you can start the year off on the right foot.

I’ll be publishing two books in 2025:
Then You’ll Believe… a fascinating true story of friendship, faith and the unexplainable gift of a promise; coming in March 2025.

Emotional Poison… sixty-nine erotic and sometimes hilarious funny poetry; coming in September 2025.
Follow me on Amazon, Goodreads or wait until I blow up my social media accounts with my new releases.

In the meantime, Happy New Year 2025 Everyone

A Christmas Merry

Wishing everyone near and far a very Merry Holiday Season 🎄 Wishes of peace, joy and love to you and yours ♡

A Christmas Merry

Twas the night before Christmas
And all through the world.
There were books being read
To every boy and girl.

Visions of knowledge and
Santa’s sleigh ride flight.
Gives hope a chance
On Christmas Eve Night.

Celebrate the life
Of Mary’s only son.
Jesus Christ, our Savior
And the Blessings we have won.

Children tucked in tightly
It’s time they go to bed.
Dreaming what will he bring
The jolly ole man in red?

Leave out the cookies
And carrots for the reindeer.
As Santa wishes a Merry Christmas
And to all a Happy New Year.

I’m Broke This Year

I told my granddaughter that I was broke and she told me that I was at least one hundred years old and insisted I had money saved in an old persons bank🤣🤣This kid kills me 😅 So, I thought this poem was appropriate for today.

I’m Broke This Year

Ya, I’m sorry to say
I’ve got some bills I have to pay.
My phone, my rent
Half my money already spent.

My lights, my heat
Staying afloat is such a defeat.
Food bill and the car
Money can only go so far.

Household goods and clothes to wear
No money for Christmas, I’m broke this year.

Ya, I’m sorry to say
No gifts are heading your way.
Toilet broke, my car died
With each bill, a tear I cried.

Taxes and health insurance
Being broke, no reassurance.
Copays and prescriptions
And Christmas wish predictions.

School vacation and now I need daycare
No money for Christmas, I’m broke this year.

Ya, I’m sorry to say
There’s so much more to Christmas day.
It’s not about gift buying
Over stressed, broke and crying.

Rushing to late night stores
Busting through closing doors.
Last of your dollars being spent
Unpaid bills is a no rule bent.

I didn’t stress out, my pockets are empty, I swear
No money for Christmas, I’m broke this year.

Ya, I’m sorry to say
The true meaning, if I may.
The family in your heart
No matter time apart.

The food on your table
Birth of Jesus in a stable.
The life you are given
In a world we are living.

No money for Christmas, I’m broke this year
May be no gifts, but there will be holiday cheer.

Christmas Toys

Tis the weekend to cross off that list of…. Christmas Toys

Made for girls, made for boys
An over abundance of Christmas toys.

A doll for her, a train for him
A Christmas book about Tiny Tim.

First it was play dough, now they want slime
Hand held games and a camera that gives time.

Christmas toys wrapped so pretty
One for the dog and one for the kitty.

Game boards and electronics
Wrestling dolls full of bionics.

Malls and stores pack their shelves
Of Christmas toys made by elves.

Sale prices and bargains always dropping
Christmas gift giving and toy shopping.

One gift, two gift, three gift more
Christmas toys are found in every store.

Shuffling the streets, for one particular game
Written on a Christmas list, each with a name.

Bustling the holiday and all its noise
Checking off the list of Christmas Toys.

Ugly Sweater Party

This is the weekend for an… Ugly Sweater Party 🧤

I’m hoping this year will be better
Finding myself an ugly Christmas sweater.
I want to feel all warm and hearty
Attending this years ugly sweater party.

Pompoms, bells and wishing wells.
Lights that flash, an inside pocket stash.

Heavy it will be without a doubt
Weighing me down on a night out.
Blinking away with tiny bulbs
Soothing sounds heard in lulls.

Some flapping doors as Santa snores.
And toys on shelves by exhausted elves.

Hard having to buy, sold at full price
Day after Christmas, dollars take a slice.
Ugly sweater, I’ll never again wear
Worn only once throughout the year.

Chestnuts roasting, eggnog toasting.
North Pole trains and alcohol stains.

The ugliest sweater that can be
Is the one I’ll be wearing on me.
Dress the occasion, I will be a bit tardy
Attending this year’s, ugly sweater party.

The Sounds of Christmas

Up the street, the people meet
For caroling to begin.
A joyous season, is the reason
In harmony they will sing.

Tap your feet, get into the beat
Christmas music is here.
Get in the groove, start to move
The sound is everywhere.

Mistletoe kiss, a Christmas wish
The list is very long.
Jingle bells and Frosty tells
Stories in every song.

Better watch out, better not pout
And rocking around the tree.
How the story goes of Rudolph’s nose
And why it shines so brightly.

Silent night, a snowball fight
A rusty Chevrolet.
The night before, elves who snore
And one horse open sleigh.

A twelve day count, a stocking mount
And cookies in a jar.
Last in line, forms the design
Of Bethlehem’s northern star.

At your door, then off to more
The carolers make their rounds.
Spreading cheer, this time of year
Of holiday Christmas sounds.

Do You Santa?

Dear Santa

If I behave and rules I abide
On Christmas Eve, can I go for a ride?
It’s been my dream, since I was a kid
But climbing the roof, I always slid.

I saw you one time, under the tree
Afraid I ran, so you didn’t notice me.
I don’t want a doll made for a girl
I want to ride your sleigh, all over the world.

I don’t want a game made for a boy
A ride on Christmas Eve, is what I’d enjoy.
I’d take a ride over all of my gifts
I want to be in it, when Santa’s sleigh lifts.

Up off the roofs, to the home next door
Riding Santa’s sleigh, so much to explore.
I can be a helper, reindeer I can guide
If only I could get a Christmas Eve ride.

I wrote you this letter and made it a poem
Sent it with love to your North Pole home.
When it arrives, please respond fast
A Christmas Eve ride, finally at last.

Do you give rides Santa, on Christmas Eve?
Because if you do, I’m all ready to leave.

I Talk To Angels

Twelve years ago today 26 lives were lost and 20 of them were six and seven year old children.  The following year, I wrote this poem…. I Talk To Angels

If I had a wish, one that would come true
I’d wish for one more Christmas, just to be with you.

I’d tell you all about the times, I was left alone and cried
Close my eyes, I talk to you, until my tears are dried.
I’d tell you how I miss the way, your quirky little smile
Close my eyes, I talk to you, I know its been awhile.

If I had a wish, one that I want the most
Maybe a Christmas photo, for a social media post.

I’d tell you how it feels, to miss you to the core
Close my eyes, I talk to you, if only for once more.
I’d tell you of days ago, and of Christmas past
Close my eyes, I talk to you, hoping it will last.

If I had one wish, one that is on my mind
I’d make my wish for you, a Christmas miracle kind.

I’d tell you how I dream, of days when you were here
Close my eyes, I talk to you, please don’t disappear.
I’d tell you how I begged, days I wished you stayed
Close my eyes, I talk to you, everyday I prayed.

If I had a wish, with just one destination
I’d wish for one more Christmas with your visitation.

I’d tell you I’m glad your here, please don’t go away
Close my eyes, I talk to you, even on Christmas Day.

A Christmas Gift

The true meaning of…  A Christmas Gift 🎁

A Christmas gift for me
If I had to choose.
My own created family
I hope I never lose.

I don’t want a necklace
Or things made of gold.
Items will never replace
Gifts you can not hold.

Don’t wrap me a present
No gifts in a bag or box.
I don’t need the air pleasant
By mood soothing rocks.

Once were the days, in stories often told
Of gift giving ways, in a world gone old.
Give me a visit, show me some love
The holiday isn’t, a sale priced glove.
Cost no money, just a big heart
No traffic, no lines, no shopping cart.

A Christmas gift for me
Is all laughter and smiles.
They come absolutely free
Memories made in piles.

It’s not sold in stores
No accompanying shelves.
Giving loud morning snores
For the overworked elves.

If I have to choose
I hope you catch my drift.
A family I’ll never lose
Is the best Christmas gift.

Christmas Blues

Depressed because of the holidays? Nah, you just have the Christmas Blues.

A weathered hole, a tired soul
Like a worn out pair of shoes.
Masking the part, of a broken heart
When it comes to Christmas Blues.

A heavy burden, always learning
So many bills with past dues.
It’s so confusing, nothing’s amusing
When it comes to Christmas Blues.

Sparkle from a star, standing where you are
You see only what you choose.
It’s easy to hide, if you don’t confide
When it comes to Christmas Blues.

No money to spend, there is no end
My mind, I hope I don’t lose.
Struggling along, trying to belong
When it comes to Christmas Blues.

I often ponder in a world I wander
Where compassion is on short fuse.
So much hate, I can only relate
When it comes to Christmas Blues.

Sadness and tears, will soon disappear
As happiness slowly soothes.
Bringing back, the strength I pack
When it comes to Christmas Blues.
