Christiane Knight is an artist, poet, writer, and author of the Stories of the Eleriannan series.

A former club and FM radio DJ, Christiane’s love of dark subculture and music infuses her stories and characters. Her latest novel is set in the Fae infused version of her already quirky hometown, Baltimore MD.

She is a lifelong enthusiast of faerie, folktales, forests and fauna, especially combined in copious amounts with all-black clothing and some Joy Division or Bauhaus playing in the headphones.

The act of writing can be a lonely business, and it is easy to get caught up in your words and worlds and isolate yourself. [especially right now!]
Join a writing community, and make some connections with writers via social media - in person is even better, but the internet makes it a lot easier to quickly acquaint yourself with authors you might not be able to meet otherwise.
I think it's important to follow authors that are at places in their careers that you aspire to, as well. Most writers share valuable glimpses into their successes and failures, and it is fantastic for the days when you are feeling impostor syndrome or want to see how someone else made it in their field. I've gleaned so many useful tips! It's also another way to feel more connected with a community of others in your field. (less)

There are a few new characters, but even better - there are some deep dives into characters from ISYK that everyone loved and wanted to know more about.
The other is an unnamed backburner project with author Robert Waldbauer that is a bit different than the Eleriannan storyline - I'm not sure when we'll finish this one, but it has been great fun to work on with Robert.(less)

This was a Hell of a book!

I don't usually read noir-styled stories, but I do love funny and I adore rich worldbuilding that makes a story feel fresh. Hiller delivers this worldbuilding aptly while turning relentless humor on the cliches and shticks o

The Ones Who Walk Away from Omelas by Ursula K. Le Guin
" I cannot describe it at all. It is possible that it does not exist. But they seemed to know where they are going, the ones who walk away from Omelas.

This is a hard one to stomach even if it is so short. I went into it not knowing the premise, so" Read more of this review »

“But what do we ask them? ‘Are your intentions to fight us, or are you just mad we didn’t invite you to the party?’ I’m sure that will make us popular.”
Christiane Knight, In Sleep You Know, a Story of the Eleriannan

“Sousa, I believe they can do better. If you can’t, it’s okay. I’ll believe for you. I’ve seen a lot of awful things in my time on this planet, but I have never, not once, thought that anyone was beyond saving.” She thumped the bass drum to emphasize her next words. “I’m not going to start now.”
Christiane Knight, In Sleep You Know, a Story of the Eleriannan

“Merrick, I think we found our next slogan. ‘Brave, but dumb.’ Maybe Tully will make us a banner with that, so we can carry it into battle.”
