The fence between our garden and our neighbour's fell down and it took a few we…moreMy inspiration for The Woman Next Door came from a real life incident! The fence between our garden and our neighbour's fell down and it took a few weeks to get it replaced. In that time, our kids treated both gardens as if it were their own, running in between the two and into each other's houses. It got me thinking about the relationship between neighbouring families and how special it can be and this inspired my fictional families, the Brennans and the Taylors. (less)
