Kyra R. Burnett is a first-time author and 27-year-old school counselor who resides in Northern West Virginia. She has been writing in a variety of ways since the age of 14; poems and blogs being her most popular works until finally deciding to make the jump and write an entire novel. Her favorite fantasy fiction worlds, such as the Marvel Cinematic Universe and Harry Potter series, are a big inspiration to her work. Solar Keepers was the beginning of an idea that Burnett had after the loss of a parent, which she turned into a therapeutic outlet as well as a lesson for others. She hopes to eventually turn it into a multi-book series.

When I met Jar Jar Binks and saw his underwater world I thought about how interesting it would be if we did that. What if instead of shipping us out into space like The 100 or sending us to Mars, we decided to dive underwater instead? What COULD that look like? In that, Cordelia's story was born.(less)
