Writing has always been as essential as breathing to me; I feel incomplete without a pen close at hand. For years, I worked in the nonprofit world as a writer and editor, then ran my own stationery boutique in Chicago. But writing fiction kept calling my name, and that led to my first novel, Love on Paper.

Fun fact: I first published under the pen name Sarah Madelin - a play on my middle name - because my fairly common legal name was already taken.
