ARC Sign-Up - The Hunt for Avalon

*** BLURB ***
If it wasn't for the lying, psycho bitch Lonnie. Hunter Novak would still be back in the city working his undercover assignment.
He wouldn't be crashing in his older brother's spare room in Lindenport.
Or sporting 12 stitches.
Avalon Saunders will do anything for the job, including becoming the girlfriend of abusive Marco 'Brat' Costa. When she is kidnapped after taking something that doesn't belong to her it is up to Hunter Novak to get her out.
Avalon hates Hunter, a man she knew by another name. Not only is he arrogant, bossy and completely irritating but she can add liar to the list against him.
Undercover work is something both Hunter and Avalon are no strangers to but going undercover as a newly married couple can only end in disaster.
Working together to find Avalon's missing sister while trying not to kill each other might be difficult.
Living under the same roof and denying their attraction to the other.
Almost impossible.
This is Book 2 in the Novak Brothers Series.

Writing Software
I have tried a few different software for writers and let me tell you some are great and some, well I want to pull my F***ing hair out by the end of it...how about you?
I tried Scrivener and while I am sure it's great, it really was not for me. I dislike it, greatly.

I can't say that I have very much to say about it, well at least not positively any way, I know there are some die hard fans of the software but for me, I felt I was spending too much time trying to navigate and work out how to use it that by the end of it I was exhausted and got nothing done.
So...now that that's out of the way...
Have you tried QuollWriter? I used this for quite some time, I found it straight forward although it's great if you write, chapter by chapter as I felt writing scene by scene was a little odd.

This is totally open source so it is great for those on a budget or no budget, it's straight forward, allows you to add characters and locations. There's an idea board, it's really great to use.
QuollWriters best feature would be an integrated Thesaurus, simply highlight a word, right click and a popup will appear with alternatives to each word.
Also it will check your work for not only spelling mistakes but if you have too many commas, if your sentences are too long even if you are using passive voice which is pretty awesome.
I don't use it very much anymore but it really is a great program to use.
So. What do I use to write with?
A program by the name of Bibisco they have a Free Version which is Community Edition and a paid version: Supporters Edition, I downloaded the Community Edition but decided to go ahead and purchase the Supporters edition at a very reasonable price.

Has a wonderful overview where you can see where you currently are at as far as your goals are, how many words you have written and how many you need to write per day to reach that goal at the date set out.
One thing I love is you can create a new project based off the characters and locations of another project which is great if you are planning on a series and use characters that cross over into other books.

Hands down, Bibisco looks better than to other and is easy to use with tips all the way through, their spell check is not the best and there is no thesaurus or a way to find issues with passive voice or too many punctuation etc like Quoll Writer but it is an excellent program I currently use.
This wasn't a very in depth post but maybe down the track I might have the time to go a little further. In conclusion the free software like QuollWriter and Bibisco are far better than the expensive Scrivener (which I am glad I only got as far as a trial)

The Novak Brothers – Book 2 – 1st Draft
I am currently working on the 1st draft of book 2 in The Novak Brothers series, this one is called: The Hunt for Avalon and yep, you guessed it, this will be Hunter Novak's story.
I am a huge fan of the Fake Marriage/Relationship trope so this book will have this as the theme, along with Enemies to Lovers because I love books where the two MC's can't stand each other and what better way to further antagonize Hunter and Avalon than forced proximity.
I have got to tell you, these two really don't like each other and what makes it worse, they have to pretend they are in love and happily married. With constant ribbing from Wren, trying to solve a case while undercover and avoiding the talk about grand babies Hunter and Avalon will be lucky if they don't kill each other before the divorce.
I am about 20% into this book and so far Hunter's jealousy is off the charts already!
I have added a progress counter in the side bar so you can see where I am currently at in this book, still a lot to go but I am very excited to get Hunter and Avalon's story written.
In the meantime, if you want to read the 1st book, you can get it here: Flying Back to Eden

It was years in the making…
Writing a book was on my Ultimate Bucket List... something I wanted to do, told myself I would never get around to it and shoved the idea away in the back.
Occasionally I would re-visit the idea and still I would think about it, still I would push it away and think I wasn't good enough to do it.
Guess what?
That's right, I did it, I wrote a book. It took me over a year with about three false starts (Three is the number I am willing to admit to.)
over 90, 000 words later I have a finished manuscript and it took quite a few rewrites but it's all expected, right?
Is it perfect...probably not but that's okay because this is my first book and I know I will get better with each one because I am already writing the next in the series.
I didn't write this for anyone but me, to prove that I could do it, that I was capable of seeing it through.
Sergeant Detective Wren Novak is running from his demons of guilt and failings in his professional and personal life. After leaving the city to accept a job offer from a close friend Wren is finally settling back in Lindenport, the large coastal town he grew up in.
The town he left ten years before and vowed never to return to.
Hoping a change of pace and scenery will help to pull him out of his current hole filled with doubt and self-deprecation while surrounded by his brothers and distracted by his leggy blonde neighbor
Worlds collide when history catches up with Wren close to the one year anniversary of the murder of his partner and friend, Wren finds himself busy with a murder which is unsettling in it's familiarity.
After running from a failed relationship and missing her home town, Eden Foley resettles back in as Lindenport's Forensic Pathologist. A call to the police after receiving an unusual gift in the mail has her sexy neighbor taking lead over a new investigation, leaving her angry as feelings from a past event bubble to the surface.
Wren Novak, former childhood friend of Eden Foley and if history is any indication is more than likely still the sweet talking ladies man.
Ten years has produced a gorgeous, sexy man and Eden hates that he sets her body alight regardless of what he did to her ten years ago before leaving town.
Wren Novak is a big, insensitive jerk who has no idea what happened those years ago.
Working together to solve a murder has forced both Wren and Eden to confront the past and the feelings they hid years ago are beginning to resurface and may not have a chance at anything more than acknowledgement when someone from Wren's past threatens their budding relationship and their lives.
Flying back to Eden is available through Amazon to purchase in Kindle Edition or as a Paperback, it is also available through Kindle Unlimited.
I am currently working on The Hunt for Avalon (The Novak Brothers Book 2)
