My top 5 for June 2021

Wow ... for a slow reader, I read a lot according to my Goodreads tally. Admittedly, most are shorts! So, all were excellent but the top five standouts were:

Stuck on You & Other Prime Cuts by Jasper Bark

Jasper is a genius and draws you in completely to the story he tells. His grasp of the English language, originality, and seemingly boundless knowledge on history, economics, and shit of course doing obscene things, is mental.

Shadow Puppets: Scarecrows of Minnow Ranch by Carver Pike

Shadow Puppets is the third story of his I have now read. And I loved it. It had me from the first page, the description and the building of suspense were superb.

Unbortion by Rowland Bercy Jr.

I felt sorry for the fetus and was mentally cheering it on in its macabre journey to find its host. I'm still a bit stunned and wondering what the fuck I read.

This is pure fucking filth by Sean Hawker

This is Pure F**king Filth was so well written, brilliant, violent, funny and absolute perfection. Heck, and the cover is amazeballs. Hawkman is stomping his way and showing that Brits aren't all about cucumber sandwiches and cups of tea. Nice one.

Flesh & Blood by Lee Franklin

I repeat do yourself a favour and just read this fucked up piece of brilliant twisted short. I loved it. Lee Franklin just gets better and better!

All of these books are available at godlesscom, in fact, some are exclusive to the new platform for independent horror.

So check godless out and pick up something for your next read! Most of the royalties go to the author, some to Drew Stepek for being 'da man', and a bit to his charity that goes towards stopping child exploitation.
