“I thought about what the world would be like without you," Astrid whispered. "I don't ever want to live there."

Astrid suddenly realized how close he was to her. She gulped down a breath, unable to register her tangled emotions.

Adrien felt different than he had ever felt before. He moved closer, only an inch, but it made all the difference.

"What are you doing?" Astrid whispered softly. Adrien brushed a single strand of hair out of her face.

"What I should have done so long ago," Adrien whispered. He watched her eyelids flutter, then close, before letting their lips collide.

If it wasn't for the life vest, Astrid would have sunk down to the bottom of the sea. She couldn't breathe. Her tangled emotions unraveled to reveal the one emotion she should have seen long ago.

"Can I kiss you again?" Adrien asked. He loved her soft lips. Astrid nodded, unable to speak.

Adrien pulled her closer before pressing his lips against hers again. His heart was beating so fast he couldn't get a decent breath.

As the waves slowly lapped around their sides, they both held each other closer than they had held anyone else.”
