After much deliberation, I realized book 1 to the desire series:WANTED FOR DESIRE, had a different story.

There are some major differences and then I there’s…not so much.

2nd edition releases November 15th.

If you read the first one to be sure to catch the second one. If you are interested in the first addition, you better get it before it’s gone forever. But be sure to read the second edition. I had so much fun riding this addition the story excited me in so many ways imaginable.

“I don’t.” His mouth was by her ear, whispering. He pulled it back to face Jules and softly let his lips fall to hers. She moaned at the sexy motion. She was already wet from Juan’s fingers tantalizing her, but she was going to be drenched if Shaw kept kissing her like that.
Jules eyes crept up to Shaw’s. “You know we just have a couple more days, right?” Shaw’s forehead was resting on hers, connecting them in spirit.

“This is supposed to be business.” Jules started sliding his jacket down over his shoulders and down his arms until it could be tossed on the couch. He pulled the straps down off her shoulders, sharp and swift, causing her to gasp at the thought of what was coming next. He kissed down her neck and chest, reaching her breasts and fondling her nipples with his tongue. “Shaw, I’m supposed to please you.” It was getting harder to speak from the ecstasy.
“No. Today, I’m going to explore your body for once.” He worked his way back to her lips, smashing his onto hers, showing her they were his. His tongue dove into her mouth, taking all of it. With his hands on each side of her waist he picked her up, which Jules followed by wrapping her legs around his waist. “I want more of you, Jules.” This was the last thing Jules was expecting from this visit, from Shaw.

Reverse harem books in Western Culture are usually either in the paranormal or contemporary genre. When creating a book cover it’s very important to differentiate between the two.

Differences in the two Genres Paranormal Reverse Harem Covers

These types of covers get to be really creative. There is almost always the heroine on the cover with some sort of weapon. there are beautiful vibrant colors. The background is usually a depiction of the environment of the book. Sometimes the other males are on the cover. For example, if the males are werewolves, they might be a few on the cover surrounding their female main character.

Contemporary Reverse Harem Covers

The Contemporary book genre consists of real world situations. Contemporary Reverse Harem book covers, in turn, include the same. Most of the time the female main character. The men in her harem are also usually on the cover. If there are 3 men, then there will be 3 book boyfriends. If there are more then 3, more then 3 might be on the cover. A lot of covers will depict a well chiseled man (or 3 or more) with only part of his/their faces. This is obviously to leave the details up to the imagination of the readers.

Should you make your own cover?

Making your own cover is a personal choice. You want your cover to look as professional as possible. If you have the training or experience to make your own cover then you can definitely do that. If you’re like me, and you have none of the aforementioned, you’ll want to hire a designer.

I made my cover wrong

When I hired a designer to make my cover, the first one came out wrong… for this genre anyways. In the first book of my series, my main female character has a stronger bond with the other two that have not formed yet. The cover had just the two of them on it.

Notice the difference, after I did some market research on popular reverse harem books.

You can make different covers

You don’t have to mimic other authors and other covers. You can always choose to go your own way. In general, if you are a new author, you will want to do covers similar to others. I am not saying to copy anyone….ever. But looking at what other successful authors do can help you. If you are a well known author, and already have following, you have a lot more leeway to try new things.
