The New York Times
review of my book has been published!
Every author looks forward to (and maybe also dreads) this moment. In this case there's the added wrinkle that the book talks quite a bit about the early history of the Times itself, in particular the paper's complicated role in the North Pole Controversy of 1909.
In any case, I'm grateful for the thorough summary provided by reviewer Joe Pompeo, and flattered by the nice things he had to say: “Diligently researched…a juicy yarn. Hartman...has a real knack for the material.”
More importantly, I hope it inspires readers to buy the book!
