Hi, I'm Carole and I wrote 'Rosie's Choice' https://amzn.eu/d/8yr9atu under the pen name of Zara Silver and self-published in 2021. I didn't market it because although it was not autobiographical and I am not Rosie, there were quite a few similarities. I have learnt over the last two to three years to be a lot more confident or at least try to be! I now feel ready to start marketing it properly.

'Rosie's Choice' is about three women from different generations, over a period of a year. All three face particular issues relevant to their situation in life (old age, working mother, middle aged with independent children). As the story unfolds and their lives cross over, we learn more about the complex relationships within each characters family. Will they be able to repair them in time or will it be too late?

I have now finished writing 'Sensational' and am currently approaching publishers. 'Sensational' describes the road to success of 42 inspiring individuals who have special educational needs. It does not seek to minimise the difficulties that they face growing up but illustrates how they did it and what they are doing now. 'Sensational' is aimed at children aged 8+

Both my books have been inspired by my son who has SEN. I took two years off work to ensure that he settled into secondary school after he was diagnosed with processing difficulties and we were told that the transition was going to be hard. During this time I wrote 'Rosie's Choice'.

When he was further diagnosed with ADHD and Tourette Syndrome I did some research into people that had these conditions and found a huge amount of successful people with neurodiversity. It helped me and I thought that it might help other children and parents who had these diagnoses.

More recently I have started to write flash fiction and entered into two competitions recently. I found it a lot more fun, quicker and easier to write than a full novel!

HOHONO! It's Christmas!

So, it looks like Christmas is back on! If you are anything like me, you will not even have thought about it let alone started planning for it.
