For over twenty years, S.C. Selvyn dreamed of telling stories about a vast, immersive world unlike any other. Then in 2014, he finally put pen to paper and began writing his first epic fantasy novel, "The Trials of Ildarwood: Spectres of the Fall."

Committed to diversity in his stories, S.C. Selvyn spent years building out the world of the Ildarwood to ensure his books could pull from a deep well of lore, with dozens of unique cultures and faiths to add depth to each tale. His long-term dream is to work with other aspiring authors and artists to expand the world of the Ildarwood with new stories and perspectives outside of the main series storyline.

He currently lives in Provincetown, MA.

I'm always amazed at how my mind, without even trying sometimes, will just come up with the perfect solution to a blockage. And other times, I've just had to sit down at the keyboard and write some ideas down -- sometimes even starting a scene or chapter from scratch -- until I feel like I'm motivated to tell the story again. I've also had to just skip over entire scenes or chapters to write something that engages me, only to come back to the blocker scenes later when I'm more motivated than before to give them another shot.(less)

“lives were just a little bit more like finished books. Perhaps if we could all just read ahead and see precisely how our stories were bound to end, we could make different decisions. Choose different paths through life. Fix all our worst mistakes before we make them. Change some of the chapters ahead before the ink within is fully set.”
S.C. Selvyn, Fall of the Forsaken

“Signora Verdani stormed out of the room and slammed its Ildarwood door so violently behind her that a thousand tiny sparks erupted from its frame. In her wake, Evalina and Mother Dominia could only stare in stunned silence, neither one of them able to fully comprehend the remarkable scene they just endured.”

“The root of most problems is rarely so black and white,” Nenika replied.”
