This is a tricky one to answer- I think the honest answer is that I came up with Lucian and Caroline first, who they were, what they wanted, and how they fit together, and then, of course, the world had its own plan for them, and it was not smooth sailing!
Moving from their internal struggles (resistance, trust, etc.), to external struggles (injuries, Silus, etc.), was for me an important move, because those are the moments when their relationship changes, when they stop fighting it and accept that they love each other, that they are stronger together, and that together they can face the world.(less)
