Aruna Maharaj Lepore is the award-winning children's book author and illustrator of Peanut the Penguin. Her book earned 2 Purple Dragonfly Awards for 2022, a Creative Child Magazine 2022 Book of the Year Award, and a Wishing Shelf Book Red Ribbon Winner Award. Although an author, Aruna is now also a nursery school assistant teacher. She otherwise takes her motherhood role very seriously, and enjoys telling stories to her kids, composing poems and short stories for her mother, and painting.
