New Book Rollercoaster - Still Life with Lobster: A Love Story
Bringing a new book into the world is a thrill of its own. Writing requires most of us to pour our hearts and souls into the pages, hoping they'll be bright and shiny enough to keep readers' attention, to ignite a fraction of the feeling we'd envisioned during the creative process. And in the midst of all the anticipation leading up to release, the last-minute edits, the marketing, the social media campaigns, there's also a whole bunch of nerves.
One of the strongest forces that has steadied me in the days leading up to Still Life with Lobster's release has been the overwhelming support of readers and other writers. Many have been folks I've only met online. They answered a call for help, showing up with a "let's do this" attitude.
This is the moment when I am reminded how many generous, good-hearted people I've been fortunate to meet. They've taken time out of their busy, busy lives and helped me in so many different ways. I'm awed and humbled. And in this whole process, that is the greatest treasure for me--other people's willingness to give of their own souls to help another reach their dreams.
It's a pretty incredible journey.
