Dan Good is a seasoned book writer, ghostwriter, journalist and editor. His upcoming biography about baseball star Ken Caminiti, Playing Through the Pain, is scheduled to be published by Abrams Press in May 2022. Dan has worked for the New York Post, New York Daily News, ABC News and NBC News, as well as local news outlets in New Jersey and his native Pennsylvania, during his journalism career. He lives outside New York City with his wife and son.

A century is a long time. And a blink.

Today marks the 100th birthday for Robert Clayton Shantz, the 1952 American League MVP.

He’s the second-oldest living MLB player (after Bill Greason), the last surviving MLB player from the 1940s, the last surviving Philadelphia A’s player, and the oldest living MVP.

Bobby—who stood 5’6” in his prime—led an interesting career.

Eight Gold Gloves.

Ken Caminiti took steroids, especially during the 1996 season and since he basically took over the final weekend series against my LA Dodgers, LA didn't win the division and then had to play the World" Read more of this review »
