“There’s a special kind of magic in the countryside, where wildflowers paint the fields in every color of the sky and gentle animals roam freely, unbothered by time.
It’s a place where the scent of blossoms drifts on the breeze, birds sing lullabies to the morning, and every creature, great and small, reminds us that beauty lives in stillness, in simplicity, and in the quiet harmony of nature."

“Gabby fell in love with the Christmassy decorations in
New York City. She had always loved the winter and the snow
but celebrating this season in the big city provided her with
endless reasons for joy. She had never seen so many elegant
decorations on every public or private building before. Gabby likes all the wreaths on the front doors; and she enjoys observing
the colorfully decorated Christmas trees set up in the front
windows of houses and apartments.
Emma and Gabby attended the famous ceremony, the
lighting of the huge Christmas tree at Rockefeller Center. The
atmosphere was exhilarating." Part IV, Chapter 4, Holidays”

“New Year’s Eve and New Year’s Day are usually huge
celebrations in Bulgaria. People traditionally dine out at fine
restaurants, where they are entertained by popular artists or
host parties at their homes. Gabby decided to invite her friends
to the restaurant where she was working that night. That way,
they could add a modern spin to old traditions. This was one of
the downfalls of being a hospitality worker—working during
holidays. After Gabby’s shift ended, long after midnight, all
three of them roamed the festive streets of New York. The crisp
air was filled with music and good cheer. People were dancing
in the streets; the three amigos joined them, dancing, laughing,
and having a great time. " The Porcelain Doll, Part IV, Chapter 4 Holidays”

“When love beckons to you follow him, Though his ways are hard and steep. And when his wings enfold you yield to him, Though the sword hidden among his pinions may wound you. And when he speaks to you believe in him, Though his voice may shatter your dreams as the north wind lays waste the garden. For even as love crowns you so shall he crucify you. Even as he is for your growth so is he for your pruning. Even as he ascends to your height and caresses your tenderest branches that quiver in the sun, So shall he descend to your roots and shake them in their clinging to the earth......

But if in your fear you would seek only love's peace and love's pleasure, Then it is better for you that you cover your nakedness and pass out of love's threshing-floor, Into the seasonless world where you shall laugh, but not all of your laughter, and weep, but not all of your tears. Love gives naught but itself and takes naught but from itself.

Love possesses not nor would it be possessed; For love is sufficient unto love. And think not you can direct the course of love, if it finds you worthy, directs your course. Love has no other desire but to fulfil itself."

But if you love and must needs have desires, let these be your desires: To melt and be like a running brook that sings its melody to the night. To know the pain of too much tenderness. To be wounded by your own understanding of love; And to bleed willingly and joyfully.”
Kahlil Gibran, Le Prophète

“Trees are poems the earth writes upon the sky, We fell them down and turn them into paper,
That we may record our emptiness.”
Kahlil Gibran
