True Calling LitRPG Book 4: Army of the Unworthy Now Available
A long road stretches behind us. The end is now in sight. True Calling LitRPG Book 4: Army of the Unworthy is now available on Kindle and paperback. Let’s have the back blurb set the scene for us.
Army of the Unworthy Blurb
“They call me many things: dragonslayer, relic tamer, savior of kings, and herald of woe. I am the Unsung Sage who dwells in the highest tower, speaker of Source, and champion of the Hidden Well. And I…”

Army of the Unworthy Now Syndicating
Once again, radio silence for months. What could Thad be doing? If you guessed, “the most important thing for an author to be doing,” thanks for the vote of confidence. I’ve spent the past ~9 months writing True Calling LitRPG Book 4: Army of the Unworthy. Apologies for leaving you all in suspense for so long. As you might expect for the final book in a series, this one is taking longer.
That said, I’ more than three quarters of the way done and rounding the corner to the dramatic conclusion....

After Zack’s revelation, Ike leaves the party and travels alone, arriving at a ruined tower above the quiet mountain village of Glyncroes. He tells himself it’s to keep everyone safe, but can he even do this alone? How long will...

Mild spoiler warning: some of the outtakes feature characters introduced in Relic Tamer, one of whom was inspired by a certain famous YouTuber.

Arrival of the Unsung Sage
“What’s Thad up to? Why’s the blog been so quiet?” you may be asking yourself. The one thing I ought to be doing, of course: writing. True Calling LitRPG Book 3: Unsung Sage is nearing completion, so it’s high time I gave an update.
Unsung Sage BlurbFirst off, here’s the official teaser from the back cover.
“Is it always like this with you? Crazy fights against even crazier monsters? Mind-melting magic items? Whole world teetering on the brink of disaster?”

Relic Tamer Releases on Kindle April 7th (but It’s Free on Royal Road Until Then)
I once attended a marketing convention with a session entitled “Marketing to Millenials.” The presenter’s main point was that millenials like free value. Give us something for free as a gesture of good faith and we’re more likely to think well of you, buy future goods, give you a glowing review, etc.
In that vein, Relic Tamer follows in its older brother’s footsteps: you can read the whole thing for free on Royal Road until the Kindle version releases on April 7th. After that, I have to take ...

My Hot Take on World Building: Why I Didn’t Like Wheel of Time
I have a confession: I never read the Wheel of Time series. Rather, I started reading it a long time ago and lost interest almost immediately. More recently, I tried the TV series and couldn’t even finish the first episode. Why? I think it’s the world building.
What I Didn’t LikeI won’t belabor the obvious; Wheel of Time is a long-running, much-beloved fantasy series with incredibly rich and detailed lore. I’m not saying it’s bad. If nothing else, it’s clearly very successful as a franchi...
