message 113: by Stuti

Stuti Rai It was going better than I'd expected on the first day but then I realized that kapow! I actually know fuck-all about life, as in love and loss and betrayal and goodbyes and that kinda shit - the stuff that takes place during revolutions. I tried faking my way through it but no can do. How about you?

message 112: by Stuti

Stuti Rai Downloaded it! Gonna put on my glasses on pour over it. Tomorrow. After school. XD

message 111: by bipasha

bipasha Watched the opening yesterday. Its gonna drag till 20th Dec. so I'll probably watch the highlights now, and complete matches only after the quarters/semis. Let's see... I dunno how adept they are or if its even worth watching... :/
Are you going to be watching?

message 110: by bipasha (last edited Jun 21, 2014 12:30PM)

bipasha Hi Soumi! I happened upon your profile by chance, and I was reminded that you were a gamer by your profile. Just wanted to say that I'm happy to *finally* know a fellow female Indian who actually games.
Also, glad to know you follow FIFA.
Um, that's it. ^_^'

Ha. I always feel a subconscious 'di' suffixed to your name whenever I see it. Bengali traits die hard, I guess. :D

message 109: by M.P.

M.P. Sharma Hi Soumi, thank you for the add. I look forward to discussing books with you!

message 108: by bipasha

bipasha I'm too busy cooped up in my room reading/drawing/rewatching fave tv shows, to notice, but in general, the weather's a mess. It finally rained a couple of days ago but it hardly makes a difference- today morning is as hot and sticky as ever. Its windy at times, so I s'pose that's a relief. We used to have crates of mangoes and litchis and watermelons sent to us but its been scarce this time. :(
And by that description you can judge that I would make the worst weather-woman ever.

Oh, btw, my second earthquake! Yep, that's me- I love apocalyptic natural calamities. Blame the books.
And I heard it was quite tremendous in WB, the epi being so close. How's life there?

message 107: by Komal

Komal Oh yes! Elijah is awesome too. Suave- that's the perfect word.

I haven't had the chance to watch The Originals yet. But I'll get to it. Is it as good as TVD?

message 106: by Komal

Komal Hi!

Yup, you assume right ^_^
And the lucky guy is *drumrolls* Klaus!
swwwwoooooon
So, you too a Vampire Diaries fan?

PS- I'm sorry for replying this late, but in my defense: 12th sucks :(
But it's finally over :D

message 105: by Stuti

Stuti Rai Nopenopenope! I just spent shitload of time there as a toddler, as did my father because his father worked there.

message 104: by Scarlet

Scarlet I've never been to Kolkata, but I really, really want to. The old-world charm of that city is enticing. Maybe someday soon, hopefully ;)

You ever been to Mumbai?

message 103: by Varsha

Varsha Hi Soumi thanks for accepting my FR :D
Looking forward to chatting with you

message 100: by Joyeeta (Dauntless, I Choose You!) (last edited Apr 09, 2014 10:48PM)

Joyeeta (Dauntless, I Choose You!) Yup, I can practice MCQs more now. Boards went well. I hope I'll score above 90%.
But I screwed up JEE Mains. So now, I have my full concentration on VITEEE, WBJEE and then, BITSAT. And then comes JEE Advanced (if I pass Mains).
Spondylitis? How are you now? And exams? You must be having them in June or something, right?
And did I mention that the girl below me is a freaking genius? And supposedly, the topper of my school. ^_^

message 99: by Basuhi (last edited Apr 09, 2014 12:37AM)

Basuhi I applied for BITs and then JEE Mains that took place on 6th April would be a gateway for most universities (NITs and all). And its also the cutoff that decides whether or not you'll be giving JEE Advanced (thankfully I'm in the safe zone.) No I didn't apply for WBJEE. Actually I cracked KVPY in Class XI which almost guarantees me a seat at IISc Bangalore. I'm not so worried. ^_^

message 98: by Basuhi

Basuhi Hi Soumi !
Its going fine-thanks for asking :) Stressful, busy and unyielding but I guess that's normal. JEE Mains are done and now Advanced (aka the real IITJEE ) awaits.

message 97: by Scarlet

Scarlet Oh cool. I'm posted at Mumbai :)

message 96: by Scarlet (last edited Apr 02, 2014 09:16AM)

Scarlet Yes, I studied computers. I now work at TCS :)
You in the same field too?

P.s. You look so preeeetyyy in the sari! <333

Joyeeta (Dauntless, I Choose You!) What's new in your life? *_*

Joyeeta (Dauntless, I Choose You!) Oh, it's on 20th April. But before that is JEE Mains on 6th. I am pretty scared and nervous. I hope the dates just come fast and save me the pain.
Atleast, boards are over. ^_^

message 93: by Kuroi

Kuroi Thanks for the friendvite, Soumi! ^__^

Nenia Campbell Woot! Thanks for adding me as a friend, Soumi! You seem really nice and I love that you're an active reader on the site. Me too! <3

Hope to chat with you more sooooooon. :D

xNenia

Joyeeta (Dauntless, I Choose You!) Well, sorry for the late reply. :/
Nope, I deactivated my FB account for this year. But after exams, I will surely add you. :)
Your college seems interesting. So, you must be in your first year of M.Tech, right?
And really thank you so much for explaining ECE branch. I was so confused about which one to choose. Ofcourse, I will ask if I have any doubt. :D :P
I should call you 'Soumi Di' then. You are nearly my sister's age. :)

Joyeeta (Dauntless, I Choose You!) And, yeah we can meet. Just the thing is I will stay there for only one day. That too will get consumed in the run for the exam. So, I let you know if I can manage. :)

Joyeeta (Dauntless, I Choose You!) I went to the right person, then. :D
From about a month, Elec. and Comm. is sounding cool to me. At first, I thought I would definitely take Mech. But then there's this thing that no matter how good you are at it, everyone would still prefer a boy as a Mech Engg.
I love physics. But not the mechanics part. The Electrical and magnetic part. So, if I take Elec. and Comm., what exactly am I going to study? You say not that difficult? o_o
I don't think I have a knack for programming since I opted for Engg. Graphics instead of C.S. for XI and XII. I liked the subject very much. Like, really. ^_^
Yes, I speak Bengali. B-)
You say you live as a PG, so you are not from Kolkata either? I mean where is your native place, then? And which college? :)

Joyeeta (Dauntless, I Choose You!) Yup, dhoti. Once they made me a Bengali husband or something in a dance. We were representing the diverse culture of India. So, dhoti-kurta. :P
I will be staying at my Aunt's. Goriahat. or maybe at Uncle's. So, Thakurpukur.
I hope so it's the best. But first I have to get a decent college. Arrghh! This period before the exams. Tension, curiosity, nervousness, nightmares. :/

VLSI? And you did B.Tech in??
I am really confused about which branch to take. Hope you can guide me. I will talk about this to you soon. Just after the exams. :D

Yeah, Bhilai is good. Good place to study.

Joyeeta (Dauntless, I Choose You!) I even danced in a dhoti. So, saree experience was better, I guess. :P
Yup, Bhilai. Came here, ever?
I visit Kolkata only to attend wedding ceremonies. ^_^
But I guess I am coming there in April for WBJEE.
What about you? College?

Joyeeta (Dauntless, I Choose You!) Yep, me too bengali. :)
I know it's difficult to wear saree. I wore it for the first time in my farewell this year(except those miserable school dances :D). But I am impressed. Until then, I thought you practically have to jump to walk in a saree. I guess I was wrong. :P
I am jealous oflove your bookshelf. :)

Joyeeta (Dauntless, I Choose You!) Hey Soumi, I should have said this before but forgot. You rock in sarees.....love the present one. But, the previous one was the best. Looked like a 'sanskari' bengali girl(you are bengali, right?) ;)
Love your hair. :D

Khanh, first of her name, mother of bunnies I love your sari pictures =) The blue is a stunning color on you, my dear!

Rashika (is tired) Noooooooooooooooooooooooo
I don't like sad books.
They make me sad.
And I don't know how to cry so it's even worse since I don't know what to do with my shattered heart.

(view spoiler)

Rashika (is tired) Noooo..
too scared to. The ending sounds awful :/
It makes me want to cry and I haven't even read the book :/

Rashika (is tired) I spoiled that book for myself after reading all the reviews that spoke of broken hearts.
.-.
Thanks for the add! :)

Jennifer Thompson Soumi,
I am so happy to be able to finally write this and tell you that after four years of ups and downs, tears and milestones, THE SCENT OF A SOUL is ready for reading consumption! :-) It has been quite the journey, but well worth it. Please feel free to visit my blog at http://jenniferthompsonbooks.blogspot... to see if my book is a perfect fit for you, or you can find my book at Amazon.com. (I am working at getting the Kindle version up and running, but it might take a while.) Sharing this with you is a highlight for me; I hope you enjoy!
