This was a lovely book. Full of emotion. Strong characters, great mythology, super plot and an absolute page turner. The only thing for me in the negative was the gratuitous sex scene. It had to be in there to break boundaries, and I’m not a prude or ...more

Great book, framed as a narrative history using prime sources and interviews. It’s as if it actually happened as you turn each page. Marvellous.
