Scar Tree finished
I love writing, and I love announcing the completion of a new manuscript even more. It’s called Scar Tree, currently 71,000 words, and now into the fourth draft.
Both this and Our UFO Year are with an agent.
I have worked out that publishers won’t even consider a writer without an agent, unless they’re a celebrity.
That is a bit sad.

New book
Very excited to announce the completion of Our UFO Year, my new novel. 62,000 words, 20 chapters, this book was a joy and a challenge to write. More to follow…

Life on the World’s biggest stuff up
Want to know what led to this latest fiasco by one of the World’s supposed oil and gas giants?
Read my book.
This article only describes a tiny part of what the crew went through over a three day period. Life offshore is hard and dangerous enough without the absence of working toilets, air conditioning, communication with land, lighting and showers, not to mention the stress and strain of mustering for over 10 hours.
The sad thing is, that crew - my mates - are incredible. No one else could have started, maintained and kept such a place producing for so long, against incredible odds and the ineptitude of management.
I could write a second volume on the stuff that has been happening. Shame is a strong word but it perfectly describes the actions and inaction of the company who own this facility and have a responsibility for every crew member on board.
We have lost too many good people, too many. It makes me sad.

Want to know what led to this latest fiasco by one of the World’s supposed oil and gas giants? How to survive offshore? How to keep your shit together while doing fly in fly out? Why it is exciting to work in 45 degrees tying up an oil tanker? Actually, forget that last bit, it sucks.
