I was privileged to be featured in a just-released podcast to talk about my book, A Coat Dyed Black, and I wanted to share it with you. The podcast, Nordic on Tap, focuses on Scandinavian culture, history and events. It’s regularly produced by Eric Stavney, an Edmonds, WA-based journalist, instructor and designer. More praise for A Coat Dyed BlackBlack
I am very heartened by the review from Canadian Novelist Neil Turner, author of the popular Tony Valenti suspense/thriller series. I share it with you now:
“Every now and then we’re lucky enough to stumble across a new writer who has written an extraordinary book that leaves us wowed. Discovering the debut novel of Don Pugnetti Jr. was such an experience for me. A Coat Dyed Black uses the backdrop of Nazi Germany’s World War Two invasion and occupation of Norway to spin a tale of everyday people rising up to do extraordinary things in the face of the human barbarism that is unleashed by war. The author portrays a compelling cast of characters with a warmth and compassion that obliges us to care deeply about their fate. Readers discover a relatively unexplored corner of the war that resonates in light of current events, and we’re entertained while we learn—no easy feat. A Coat Dyed Black will stay in your mind long after you close the final page.”
I am touched by Neil's words, and I encourage you to check out his books at www.neilturnerbooks.com

Release of A Coat Dyed Black
Feb 1, 2022. This is the day my book is out, A Coat Dyed Black, my historical novel set in Norway during World War II, was nearly 44 years in the making. A transcript of my first interview with a courageous Norwegian resistance fighter during the Nazi occupation is dated March 5, 1978. Since then, I conducted a great many more interviews, read 35 books about the war years, compiled a wealth of other materials, and researched for weeks upon weeks in Norway. It all went into this novel. So today is one of the most satisfying moments of my life. I owe so much to so many, especially Wendy, whose sharp editing skills and numerous suggestions made this a much better book. I’d also like to single out Girl Friday Productions of Seattle for all they did to bring this book from the editing and design stage to publication.
The outpouring of interest and support from so many people has been overwhelming. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts. For those of you who haven’t visited my new website yet, it is www.donpugnettijr.com. You’ll find links to purchase the book along with an opportunity to sign up for occasional updates, little-known stories and details from WWII Norway unearthed during my research.
The most important thing to us is that you enjoy the book, enough to tell others about it and post a review on Amazon and Goodreads to relay what you thought about it. Thanks again for encouraging me to fulfill my dream.

A Coat Dyed Black
A huge thank you to New York Times best-selling author Robert Dugoni recommended my book, A Coat Dyed Black, at an on-line book event last evening hosted by The Back Room. The host is an organization that connects established authors with readers across the country to informally talk about their books and new releases. This recognition touches me deeply. The book, a historical novel set in Norway during World War II, is set for publication on Feb. 1. It's available for preorder now via Amazon, Barnes & Noble and Bookshop.org.
