A thought, an idea, a situation I wish I could change, an interesting observation, people watching. All, or any of these prompt stories that take up space and energy in my mind, often kicking my imagination into gear. Then comes the constant thinking and wondering before I actually sit and type. It's like having access to all the stories you could ever want to read, you just have to get them out onto the page. There is something incredibly satisfying knowing that there wasn't this story, then I spent time with the characters in their world. Finally, I have the opportunity to tell their stories to others who otherwise would never have known about them. I wouldn't trade it for anything.(less)

I love a good story that revolves around Santa, but this new story took up residenc…moreI am currently working on a new book that isn't Christmas related. I love a good story that revolves around Santa, but this new story took up residence in my imagination and would not be ignored. It is set in a quirky little town and is full of unique characters. It's full of 80's nostalgia and has been so much fun to write. I've spent so much time with the characters they seem like real friends. The experience has been so much fun, I hope to make it a series to find out the rest of the story. (less)
