Hi Laurie,

Great questions--I'll answer them in the two parts in which you asked them.
'Jumpstarting the creative process' is something to me that is iterative, something that requires discipline and faith, even when my discipline is weak and I seem to believe in nothing. It is this, simply; it is consistent effort so that no sudden start is never needed. Rather, I write every day/ night so that inspiration needn't strike me, I strike it. I, as an artist, am both the farmer and the natural fructifier, in that I would be otherwise stymied in my quality if I were to let a day or week slip without organic words stemming from my vine. I hope that addresses your first question.
Laurie, you summated 'observe mode' well, in that is capricious and fickle as a thing to grasp as a writer. I will answer as a resortation to a writer (with utmost apologies to its originator, as I cannot pull their name at current) who said it best: "you don't always have to be typing to be writing." This envisages my work, as it epitomizes the synergy (or lack thereof) between my ridiculous life and my work. I need to experience things to write things, and I, as a certain individual, often find myself in high places with fascinating people who rush me into new inspiration a lifetime could ever warrant (despite twenty five or so years).

Thank you and I hope, if you don't enjoy, then feel and feel deeply the visions invoked. I appreciate readers such as yourself, and if you'd ever like, please let me know if you've like personal signed copies from me.

With my best always,

“Golden. Like the product of Starfall, I could only hope to touch my vision of her. A missed connection perpetually. I felt like I was alive, only to look for her around every corner, hoping but knowing she would never appear. And she never appeared. And she never would appear, either, not after I killed her.”
Nick Oliveri, Her

“The vindictive flames of the sun scared me. But the fear of the great yellow eye paled compared to my body's longing for food, warmth, and someone to maybe understand me. Embrace. Grateful embrace. The warm touch of another human. That was my new goal if I ever needed one in the first place.”
