I'm a Jew and grew up in the Bronx. I went to college in Brooklyn and played racquetball back in the 80s, but no handball or Hasidism. I did a lot of internet research, watching videos, reading the Rebbe's letters, interviews, etc. I wanted the novel to have an authentic feel, even if every specific detail isn't exact.
