Sneak Peek - Missing, No Trace Left

Hi there avid Romance Suspense reader,
Take a little sneaky peeky at my upcoming book, Missing, No Trace Left - Complete Series.

𝑯𝙚𝒓𝙚'𝙨 𝙖 𝙎𝒏𝙞𝒑𝙥𝒆𝙩:

𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞
Kennedy felt the world swirl around her as she breathed in his smell and tasted his lips for the first time. His arms were strong and warm around her, and she wanted the moment to last forever.
Finally, he pulled back. “You’re my girl, Kennedy. Always have been, always will be. Keep that in mind when you’re in New Jersey. Know that I will always be waiting for you.”
As always, at that moment, Kennedy awoke, and groaned aloud. How many times would she have that stupid dream? That moment had been more than fifteen years before, and in the passing years, she’d certainly been kissed by other guys. Why did that memory of him keep haunting her dreams?
Turning over, Kennedy glanced at the clock and rolled her eyes. Two hours until the alarm would go off. Just enough time that she would probably have that blasted dream again…

𝐂𝐡𝐚𝐩𝐭𝐞𝐫 𝐎𝐧𝐞
Kennedy carefully balanced the tray with the three lattes on her hand and wrist as she reached for the door handle. Just then, Julia opened the door and rolled her eyes. “Jesus, Kenny, how many times do we have to tell you that if you text or call from the car, we will open the door for you?” She reached out her hands and took the cardboard carrier. “Give me that.”
“Thanks, Jules.” Without the piping hot cups balanced precariously on her hand, Kennedy could slide her messenger bag up onto her shoulder. “I know, I know. I keep trying to remember it.”
From one of the two corner offices at the back of the lobby area, Kennedy could hear a familiar voice. “Tell me you didn’t forget my biscotti.”
“Tatyana, it is Tuesday. On Tuesday, they have double-chocolate almond biscotti with a dark chocolate glaze. I swear to God, if I didn’t get you one each Tuesday, Yuri would slit my throat. The best moment in his week is when you stop by on Wednesday for our coffees, and you tell him how good it was.” The members of the office took turns picking up breakfast each morning, and Yuri, the local coffee barista and pastry chef, had a massive crush on Kennedy’s business partner, Tatyana.
Just then, Tatyana stepped out of her office. Tall and thin, she had the looks of a supermodel, and dressed like a high-cost call girl. Today, she was in a skin-tight red wrap dress that left nothing to the imagination, and thigh-high black leather boots. She grinned. “True. So true.” She then looked Kennedy over from head to toe and shook her head. “Please tell me you look like you just rolled out of bed because you spent the night with some hottie, not that you are still having that silly dream and you slept poorly again.”
Kennedy looked down at her jeans and black Chelsea boots, topped by a dark green cowl sweater and her regular messenger bag. “What’s wrong with my outfit?”
“Nothing.” Tatyana took a sip. “As long as your goal is to never have sex again in your lifetime, you look great. But you are still young and beautiful. Once you stop trying to hide your looks, men will come running.”
This was an often-repeated conversation. “Thanks for the pep talk, Taty.” She looked over at Julia. “Any messages for me?”
The hyper-organized assistant looked at the screen in front of her. “None for you specifically. Three calls about possible new cases, two wives thinking their husbands are cheating, one from a construction company who thinks one of their workers is claiming he got injured so he’s on disability, but they think he’s scamming them. Before they take it to their insurance company, they want us to check it out.” Neatly labeled folders were spread out on the center table of a small conversational gathering space in the back corner. “When we meet, we can decide if we are interested in those or not, and I will reach back out to them.”
“Sounds good.” Kennedy went to her desk and opened her laptop, watching it power up. “Give me a minute to check email, then I’m ready to meet.”
The local news station played almost all day on the television up on the wall across from Julia’s desk. Over the years, several interesting cases had come their way through following stories they’d seen there. Just then, Kennedy caught the headline scrolling across the bottom of the screen. “Local Teen from Queens — MISSING.”
Kennedy leaned against her desk. “Hey, Jules, turn it up, will you please?”
“Sure, Kenny.” Julia automatically hit the remote, then focused on the screen to see what was so interesting to Kennedy.
The reporter looked at his notes, then spoke. “Jim, Janey, just minutes ago, the police in Queens gave a press conference, and announced that fifteen-year-old Sage Sullivan is missing.” He glanced down. “Missing since the day before yesterday, they have officially labeled it a missing person’s case, and they are asking the public for help in finding Sage.” A photo of a pretty-blonde teen filled the screen. “Last seen heading out to study with friends at the library on Globe Boulevard, Sage was last seen wearing jeans, a black hoodie, and black soccer shoes. If anyone has any information about the case, please contact the hotline at the number listed below.”
Kennedy walked silently back to her chair, thinking to herself about the news report. It had to be a coincidence. Sullivan. Hell, when she’d lived in Queens, she’d known at least fifteen kids with that last name. Just because she’d been thinking about Connor a lot lately, didn’t mean that this case had anything to do with his branch of the Sullivan family tree. After all, he was her age, so there was no way he could have a kid that old. Maybe one of his brothers’ kids? Nah, her mother would have heard something about it if it involved one of his family, still keeping in the gossip loop with her old friends.
Seeing Julia watching her with interest, Kennedy grabbed her spiral notepad and latte. “Ready to meet? Taty, ready?”
As Kennedy walked over to their meeting spot, she pushed aside thoughts of Connor Sullivan. The Sullivan family on the television had nothing to do with any old feelings she had from years before…

Giveaway Continues

Hi there avid romance suspense reader,
Don't forget to submit your entry for the 𝐆𝐈𝐕𝐄𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐘 - 𝟏𝟎 𝐥𝐮𝐜𝐤𝐲 𝐰𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐫𝐬 will receive a copy of my book Missing, No Trace Left - Complete Series.

The old neighborhood hadn’t changed much at all. Same small duplexes, with perfectly neat tiny front yards. Doors had seasonal decorations, and front curtains pulled closed.
She followed the map as it led her through familiar streets. Connor certainly hadn’t strayed far from his childhood home.
Finally, her GPS calmly told her to turn into the next street and her destination would be on the right.
It was. A pin-neat, small yellow house sat on the corner lot, the driveway just after the house. Kennedy pulled into the driveway, and turned off the ignition, and looked at the house.
Very similar to her childhood home, she already knew the layout. Small front living room, kitchen and dining room side-by side behind it. A small bathroom and den or office toward the back of the house. Upstairs, there would be another bathroom, with three bedrooms, or maybe two with a junk room. The top floor might be transformed into a television room or hobby room. White lace curtains hung in the windows, and a black garbage can stood next to a green recycling container on the side of the small one-car garage.
Someone moved one curtain in the front room, near the front door. Connor, or someone, clearly was waiting for her. It was time to get out of the car and go see him.
As she stepped out of the car, she reached toward the passenger seat and grabbed her purse and her messenger bag. Standing up, she straightened out her clothes and took a quick look at her reflection in the car's window.
Just then, she heard a door open, and as she turned, she saw an older woman coming out her front door, a full garbage bag held in her hand. The woman stared at Kennedy. “Kennedy? Is that you?”
Kennedy looked at the woman more carefully, and suddenly grinned. “Ms. Jameson! How are you?”
“Mrs. Tanner now, but I’m good. How are you, kiddo?”
“Good, thank you.”
The older woman motioned toward the house behind Kennedy. “I think I heard you are an investigator now. Are you here to help Connor with finding Sage?”
“I am.”
“I’m glad. Then don’t let me keep you, Kennedy. Go see Connor, and it was wonderful to see you again.”
“You too.”
As she headed for the front steps, Kennedy smiled. Ms. Jameson had been probably her favorite teacher in high school here in Queens. How nice it was to see her again.
Raising her hand to knock, Kennedy didn’t get the chance as the door opened. “Kennedy!”
Connor stood in front of her, and Kennedy felt her heart sink. Nope, he didn’t have a dad beer belly, and he sure as hell wasn’t bald. Instead…he was a fucking hunk. Gorgeous. Every part of her body tingled seeing him. Shit! This was going to be worse than she thought… “Connor, hi.”
He held open his arms, and automatically, Kennedy walked into his hug. Muscled arms tightened around her, and as she breathed in his cologne, she realized she was about to make an ass of herself. Taking a deep breath, she hugged him back, and then stepped back.
Taller than she remembered, he looked down at her. “Here, let me take your bag. Come on in, I thought we could talk in the kitchen.”
“Sure.” She slipped the bag off her shoulder. “Thanks.”
Somewhat in a daze, Kennedy followed Connor down the short hallway to the kitchen. Damn! His butt looked amazing in those jeans. The button-down shirt fit his broad shoulders perfectly, and his slightly darker blond hair still was longer than his mom probably liked.
Connor had aged really, really well. Kennedy knew she was sunk. Anything he wanted; she was likely to give. Shit…
