Mark is a new author and retired pastor. His first book is a nonfiction study of the prayer in Acts 4. He hopes to follow that up with a novel, which he is currently editing. He also has several short stories that are in process.

Mark lives with his wife Nancy in northeastern Illinois. They have two grown daughters and two young grandchildren, all of whom they adore! Residing with them in their empty nest is their adorable terrier mix, Poppy.

I'm a sucker for a good Victorian detective story, and this book gave me that. I look forward to reading the second volume. Also, I listened to the audio book and found the narrator to be excellent. ...more

If I were rating just the second half, I might give it five stars, but the first half seemed too slow as everything was being set up. I almost gave up on it but decided to stick it out and was glad I did.
