Zoë Burkholder is a professor of educational foundations at Montclair State University, where she is director of the MSU Holocaust, Genocide, and Human Rights Education Project. She is an historian of education whose research examines the history of school integration, racial equality, and antiracist education in the United States.

Her scholarly articles and commentaries can be found in popular and academic journals including Harvard Educational Review, Journal of Social History, History of Education Quarterly, Teachers College Record, Education Week, and Teaching for Justice.

She lives in Montclair, NJ with her husband, two kids, and two dogs.
