Smile

Welcome back to our continuing dialogue about Love. Today’s message: You make me smile!

Today is a special day for all of us. For some of us, this day is special because we get to see children frantically rummage through the yard to find the Easter eggs left by the Easter bunny (mostly by you). The smile on those kids face when they find an egg, open it, and remove the surprise inside is priceless. They run up to their friends and family and yell with a contagious smile “Look what I got.” It is as if the world was anew and the rewards were there for the taking.

For others, this is the day we honor the life of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. This day is not only celebrated by Christians, but also by Hindus, by Buddhist, Muslims, and by many other religions. The celebration is based on the great life of a wonderful teacher who came to teach us that Love was the only way. All faiths recognize the importance of Jesus Christ through his simple message “Love one another and treat your neighbor as you would treat yourself.”

This message is very profound and it was given over two thousand years ago by a the son of carpenter. Jesus was a true teacher who wanted to build a beautiful story for humanity. A story where we all could come together as one and could help the less fortunate to step out of their sadness and misery. In his building of a better life and existence for all of us, the darkness seen his light and the Love he was interjecting in this world.

Through the hate, fear and despair we can all generate, the darkness beat him physically to the point that his own Mother could not recognize him. The darkness then hung him on a cross so we all knew what would happen to a person who talks of salvation and who wants all of humanity to succeed. What happened to Jesus was no accident or mistake, it was the intentional conduct of hate which always leads to destruction.

Like so many times throughout history, the darkness managed to extinguished the light of love for the self and the light of love for others.. It has happened to people like United State President John Fitzgerald Kennedy (killed age 46), and Reverend Martin Luther King. This is only 2 Loving people of the many millions destroyed by the darkness for being peaceful, kind, joyful and loving.

Yet, through his examples and his teaching Christ gave us all a choice. One simple choice which is to Love. As recorded in the Holy Bible, his last words to humanity were “Forgive them.” Now, that is love for your fellow man. Not just to Love one another when it is convenient, or to Love when it is beneficial to your career or success, but to Love your fellow man through the hard times. Today, let us all practice the Love that Christ showed us. I promise you this world would completely change.

Have a great Easter to all! Sincerely, Luis J. Rojas, A Messenger of Love.

Easy Like Sunday Morning

Welcome to our continuing conversation about Love. Today’s message: A good evening is one spent in the presence of good company.

Let’s start the day by saying “Good morning” to all my readers. I would like to thank you for taking time out of your day to commune with me over the last 18 months. When I started this public writing on the subject of Love, I was terrified to express my feelings and my thoughts. I was caught up with the self doubting thoughts we all have like “Who cares about what I think” or “They will never agree with me”. I started with three (3) readers, today “The Answer is Love” has over 1,300 followers! What I have learned is that you, my readers care. You not only care for others, but you care for yourself. That is important in life. Why? The answer is Love.

Love can be difficult or it can be hard. Have you ever meet a person who can not say the word Love? A person who never tells their children, friends or family that they Love them? A person who when you hug them and you look into their eyes and say “I Love You” they look away and they simply say “Thank you”. They look away from you uncomfortably making you feel like either they don’t Love you or they don’t care about you. These people are not bad individuals, or uncaring human beings, they just do not know how to express their feelings of Love. Whether it is because they were not raised using the word “Love” or just have lost faith in the word “Love”, they simply refuse to say the word and to use the power inherent in the meaning of Love. How do I know this? I was one of those individuals.

When I was young I believed that Love was associated with weak individuals that were passive and lazy. Love to me made me think of hippies. Since I was extremely into sports, I need to be strong like a rock and Love was not in my vocabulary or in my practice. Now, I am older and I realize that what made me a good athlete and a good student was Love. It was my Love for the sport and my Love for knowledge that helped me excel in both areas. Yet, I was too naive and too arrogant to incorporate the power of Love in my life.

Now, I am a different person because I recognize and use the power of Love in my life. It has made a monumental different as I see things from a Loving perspective. See, Love is about victory. Many years ago, the world was involved in World War II. This conflict was a true struggle between the forces of good and the forces of evil. What won that conflict was not military strength or military power. What decided that horrible event was the Love those men and women had for their country. The United States lost over 400,000 men in WW II. These men gave their hearts and lives for the Love of their country. Only great Love conquers great hate.

So, today I ask all of my readers to say the words “I Love You” to someone you know or even to someone you don’t know. Say it to your friends and say it to your family. Say to you dogs, your cats, your turtles (like “Bannana”), your fish and your birds. These simple three word will bring understanding, patience and peace into you existence. Your return on the investment of Love is unlimited. Better than any lotto winnings. Best of all it is free.

Sincerely and respectfully submitted, Luis J. Rojas, A Messenger of Love

MY FRIEND

Welcome to our continuing conversation of Love. Today’s message: The only way to have a friend is to be one.

Do you remember when you were young? Do you remember how many friends you had? Do you remember how much fun you had? Now, you are much older and it seems like most of your friends are gone. I remember when I got married we had 150 guests at the wedding. All of them were my friends. Today, how many do I speak with? Maybe one, and that friend was not invited to my wedding. It seems that this experience is common throughout our society. There must be a common denominator.

When I look back at where all my friends disappeared too, I realize that most of my friends live in the same place as they did before. While some friends have moved away, and others have passed away, many live there lives without me. Most live in the same place as when we were younger and most still live in the same city. While one could say that these flighty friends were never friends at all, there must be more to this message. I often look back and try to understand what I could have done to be a better friend and possibly continued our friendship. What I started to realize is that friendship is a two way street.

See, being a true friend is not about money, status, or how many favors you can recieve from a friend. Friendship is not about what someone can do for you. Friendship is about what you can do for your friend. Friendship is about listening and observing. It includes listening when a friend needs a shoulder to cry on and observing when your friend is hurting. It is about accepting your friend how he or she is without trying to find a reason to put down your friend. While life is full of reasons on why we do what we do, ending a friendship often times feels difficult. Why? The Answer is Love.

Most of us start a friendship with excitement. We marvel at the potential of a friendship, whereby each person can grow and experience life through the eyes of a friend. We understand the obligations of friendship, but when it is time to show your intentions there is no one on the other line. Suddenly, the friendship becomes strained because one person is hurt and the other person basically does not care. Yet, the laws of this world allow a person to reap what they sow. This beautiful principal plays out undisturbed from the moment of your birth to the day of your death. So, if your a fair weathered friend don’t be surprised if you are surrounded by those same types of friends.

Today, to a moment to reach out to your friends and let them know that you Love them and care for them. Let them understand that you serve and are of service. Explain to them that you are there if they ever need you regardless of the situation. Lastly, let them know that you Love them dearly and appreciate them deeply. These few actions will bring past friendships back into your life and attract people who will truly be your friends.

Good Bye My Love

THE DAY WILL COME WITH NO REPRIEVE

WHERE I MUST SAY GOOD BYE AND LEAVE

FOR ME I’LL SIT AND PONDER ON

ABOUT THE LOVES NOW LOST AND GONE

A MILLION THANKS TO THOSE WHO WERE

MOMENTS I CHERISHED AND DID NOT DESERVE

TODAY WILL COME AND ROLL ON BYE

AT NIGHT I’LL SIT AND WATCH THE SKY

WHAT I KNOW NOW DEEP IN MY HEART

IS THAT MY LOVE FOR YOU WILL NEVER PART

SO AS MY BOOK COMES TO AN END

ALWAYS REMEMBER YOU WERE MY FRIEND

Have a beautiful week my friends. Sincerely Luis J. Rojas, A Messenger of Love

We raise our glass!

Welcome to our continuing conversation of Love. Today’s message: Cheers!

So here we are 2023. Christmas is behind us. New Years celebrations are over. The college and professional football seasons are behind us. We are all ready to start the new year. The bell has sounded, the starter has set us all off on our race. Let us take a second to remember all those who were not at the starting line with us this year. For me it was my dear partner Stephen Stein, Esq., of the Law Office of Stein and Rojas. Yes, Steve was my partner for close to twenty (20) years.

During those twenty (20) years we helped thousands of people who felt the weight of the world on their shoulders. We took cases all over the nation. Have you heard the saying “Have gun will travel?” Well, we believed in the motto “Need help we will travel.” During our time together we helped young and old, black and white, poor and rich. I remember one time my partner was going through a difficult period in his life. In the middle of the difficulties, a savoy prosecutor pushed him into trial. A few days before the trial I realized that Steve had to much on his mind, so I grabbed the file and put on the case for him. Our client was facing multiple life sentences. To our surprise, the jury found our client innocent on all the charges. Steve was jubilant and I was very happy. Our client lived to fight another day. This was one of the many victories we encountered together as friends and colleagues.

What I found so interesting about my friend was his sense of humor. Like every person, Steve had a unique and unusual life. Being raised by a single parent in Brooklin, New York, was challenging. He was the only person I knew that took and passed the entrance exam to law school and to medical school. Deciding to go to Law school, he joined the Navy upon graduating. There was a mandatory draft for all males over the age of 18 years of age during those times (1960), so he volunteered for the Navy. He figured that if he was on a ship, he would not have to fight in the fields and jungles of Vietnam. Well guess what, his first assignment as an Officer (JAG) was to Saigon, Vietnam. His arrival was a few days before the siege of Saigon by the Viet-cong. When he arrived, his commanding Officer said “What are you doing here, we are about to get overrun by the enemy.” Steve grabbed his gun and began his fight. This was the first time Steve saw death. After this battle for his life, he went on to fight and to protect the rights of others for many years. He was a beacon of loyalty, honesty and bravery throughout his marvellous life. His fight ended on July 2022. He was survived by his former wife Susan, his daughters Sharon and Katie and his son David. All beautiful people who he loved dearly.

It is interesting, because every year I line up on the line at the beginning of the year. Every year less and less people that I know line up on the line with me. This does not mean that we should forget them. This does not mean that their beauty and their sacrifices should be forgotten. So today, lift up your glass for those that we lost in 2022. Know that your Love for them and their Love for you will never end, Death does not conquer Love, but Love transcends death by continuing to remind us of those who have left. The truth is that death is just a beginning and Love is the road home. So, today I know, I feel and I understand that the Answer is Love. I hope you do too.

To all those great individuals we lost in 2022, till we meet again, farewell and Godspeed.

Sincerely, Luis J. Rojas, A Messenger of Love.

Past Things

Welcome to our continuing conversation of Love. Today’s message: Let the past stay in the past! Celebrate a new beginning.

Throughout life we have all sorts of experiences. Some of our experiences seem very tough will other experiences seem very pleasing. Of the experiences you have had, some of you wish you could relive the experience and do something different. While the past may be remembered it can’t be redone. The human experience is one where we can move into the past and be bogged down with total recall. This total recall is a blessing. But like everything in this dualistic dimension, what goes up must come down. The question is whether our ability to see and hear our past events is good for our present and future existence.

Famous English Prime Minister Winston Churchill once said “Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” The issue is at what level should we see our past life and how should we see our personal history. A crazy thing happened to me the other day. I was driving home on the highway, just thinking, when from my subconscious mind sprung up a past event of my life. Obviously, I must have been at a peaceful place where my subconscious could penetrate my conscious thoughts. Out of nowhere I seen myself around 12 years old punching a friend in the stomach. I seen the whole incident from beginning to end. After I slugged my friend, because I was unhappy, I could see him running home crying. I realized that my actions caused him great sadness and great pain. I covered my mouth with disbelief and how I had acted. I immediately was consumed with guilt. While driving I wanted to put this past life regression into its proper context. I wanted to learn what I needed to learn, but not have my day overwhelmed with sadness and fear. Then I started to think about what the great teachers, masters, an gurus say about self reflection.

Self reflection is a gift, but it also can destroy your life if it consumes you. The past is in the past, and that is where it belongs. You can not change the past, but you can change your future Whenever you are reflecting on your past, try to see the past events as if you were a neutral third party observer of the event. This will remove a lot of the unnecessary guilt of remembering your past. Ask yourself why is this memory coming to me now. Don’t ignore it, but simply step away from the emotion involved in the event. As you see the events unfold, take a deep breath and try to understand why the event occured. Don’t give excuses, see the event as it truly occured and see yourself as you actually acted.

For me, I seen a child (me) who was taller and bigger than most acting insecure about how a smaller neighbor child would possibly change the dynamics of the friendships he had in my neighborhood. I seen myself as an aggressive child who imposed violence upon someone else by hitting them. Even though the child whom I socked was physically alright, emotionally he was hurt and embarrassed. At that age, I seen myself as a brute who had a misunderstanding of Love and how to be a friend. In myself, I seen a child who was hurting deep inside. Hurting for what you ask? The Answer is Love.

The key to any moment of reflection is not to be overwhelmed with sadness and guilt. While these two emotions help us be remorseful, they can also create denial. Denial of others, or of past events, is a refusal to see life as it truly exists. People with denial issues are known to have problems with their vision. There eyes see an event and then the eyes attempt to transmit the information to the brain. The brain then tells their eyes that they have not seen what the actually saw. It creates a battle between the senses and the mind, causing horrible results. Well, on this day I covered my mouth as I could not believe how I had acted towards my friend.

So what did I do? Well, I remembered that as time went on that the young child in my memory eventually became my friend. I remembered all the fun and laughter we had together. In changing my focus, I understood that my neighborhood friend had forgiven me for my act and I also understood that it was time that I released this suppressed memory by forgiving myself as well. In this forgiveness, I again emphasized in my conscious mind that violence is destroying this world and that only Love will save us. I then took a second to wish blessings upon my friend and I apologized for my lack of Love and understanding. I then released the memory with Love and light and moved on with my day. The past had been acknowledged and the lesson had been learned.

Today, you start a new year, leave the past in the past. That does not mean forget your past. To forget your past is to lose a very important part of your essence. Create value in your past through self reflection, understanding that the future contains the possibility of change. Renewal is a part of nature and is part of every human life. Look forward to the future with excitement and reverence. In your future lies the possibility of a greater whole in the sum of your divisible parts. Understand that the Answer is Love.

Happy 2023! Lets fill planet Earth with Love so we may all live in peace and harmony. Sincerely, Luis J. Rojas, A Messenger of Love

Baby, baby, baby

Welcome to our continuing conversation about Love. Today’s message: The only way to have a friend is to be one!

When I think of Christmas, I think of a tree filled with ornaments and lights. I picture presents under the tree and wonderful outside decorations of Saint Nicolas, Rudolf the rednosed reindeer, the Grinch, and scenes of the Nativity. Most scenes of the holy night show Joseph, Mary, and a little baby boy. I sit back and wonder how that evening played out for Joseph and Mary. I picture the desperation of Joseph to find a place to take his beloved wife, Mary, so she could rest while having intense labor pains. I can only imagine Joseph’s happiness when he finally laid his wife down so she could rest and have their child.

Now, having a child is not an easy thing. Especially for a couple who has never had a child before. The contractions of a Mother are intense during childbirth, so I imagine that Mary’s contractions become more frequent as the evening went on. I see Joseph helping Mary with the controlled breathing which a Mother naturally does to alleviate her pain. I see both the hurt in Mary’s eyes and I see the feeling of helplessness in Joseph’s face. All of this surrounded with an overwhelming feeling of excitement for the arrival of the couples first child.

On that holy night, in the late evening hours a child was born in Bethlehem (the town of David), Israel. That child was Jesus and he was born with the stress, pain, excitement, and joy that every child is born. Why? Because Jesus was a human being! He was born like a human child, lived like a human person, suffered like any man or woman and then one day he died. On the day of his death many cried, while others said “He got what he deserved.” This my friends is part of every person’s story. That is what makes Jesus so entwined with our lives and our everyday existence. He was was one of us, who was born like us, and died like us. His experiences were those of anyone of us. He experienced love, hate, and indifference. He endured pain, disappointment and betrayal. Yet, he always applied one simple belief in his life. What is that belief? The Answer is Love.

Outside of the manger, there was a different experience occurring. It was quite different from the ordinary birth of a child. First, there was a celestial phenomena illuminating the birth of this special person. The star was the light of the world and indicated that a guide had arrived for all of humanity to follow. In this teacher, the message of Love would be continually spread It guided the Magi, the Tibetan Monks, and the Hindu Guru’s to the place of the physical embodiment of True Unconditional Love. There among the animals of the earth, born on the ground was Jesus of Nazareth.

In the fields, beings from other planes of existence were revealing themselves as witnesses of the birth of Jesus. Just like the doctors and the nurses serve as witnesses to your birth, so did Jesus require witnesses. These multitude of Angels could be seen in the skies singing “Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace among men with whom He is well-pleased” (Luke ch.8 v.14). The Angels announced “For today in Bethlehem a rescuer was born for you. He is the Lord Yahweh, the Messiah.” (Luke ch.2 v.18). How did the shepherds respond? They began saying to one another, “Let us go straight to Bethlehem then, and see this thing that has happened which the Lord has made known to us. And they came in haste and found their way to Mary and Joseph, and the baby as He lay in the manger (Luke ch.2 v.15, 16).

Today, become closer to Love. Remember and celebrate the special moment of Love that occured 2,000 years ago. In that moment the salvation of the human race was once again revealed to humanity. The message was to Love one another. The answer in not in Armies, weapons of mass destruction, or war, but in the Love that we have for each other. Celebrate that Love that we all have and give your family, your friends, or even an innocent bystander a hug and a kiss. Let others know that the world is a better place with them in it. So, Merry Christmas to all and to all a good night!

Togetherness

Welcome to our continuing conversation of Love. Today’s message: Magic time is made when a person comes to stay.

Starting with Thanksgiving, our attitudes, feelings, and perspectives change. Instead of focusing on our needs and wants we begin to focus on our Love for others. During the holiday season, we have numerous celebrations where we meet with family and friends to discuss our lives and our experiences. Sometimes family comes all the way across the country to visit us, while other times family members drive just down the street to see how we are doing. Inevitably, we either become guests or we host guests in our homes. What is interesting about this situation is the growth and Love experienced by both the guest and the host during these get-together.

As a host you prepare your home for that special someone who is about to visit you. You put on fresh sheets and remake the guest bedroom so your guest feels comfortable. You get the guest bathroom ready for use. You make sure that the refrigerator is full of food for the guest to munch on. You stress out about whether your guest will enjoy his time at your home. You pray for your guests safe travels and you may wish him “Gods speed.”

The guest has a different perspective on the experience. Specifically, the traveler has taken time out of his life to come visit you. He or she has traveled out of there way to spend time with you. They are hoping to reconnect with you and truly experience the comforts of the holidays. Not of the long travel lines, or the jam packed airplanes, or the bumper to bumper traffic on the freeway, they focus on the Love which they have for their host and their family. Undoubtedly, this tradition of visiting others for the holidays is carried out millions of times every year. In fact estimates predict that over 55 million people will travel during the holiday season in the USA alone.

How do we get past the stress of this type of holiday experience? We let Love guide our way. We begin by understanding the sacrifice of both the guest and the host. One to open their home and the other leaves their home. We realize the reunion is one to cultivate growth, unity, and Love between all parties. Understand that in the magnitude of the Universe, the time you will spend with others is short! Your appreciation and gratitude for the lonesome traveler is understood and spoken about by all the great philosophers. While the blessing of having a place to stay with a Loved one is cherished by every person. So, during this holiday season open up your heart and your home to others, and remember to welcome others with a warm hug of Love. This will make any get-together, or reunion, a moment filled with magic.

Wishing you my reader a blessed holiday season filled with Love, peace and joy. Sincerely Luis J. Rojas, A Messenger of Love

A Good Attitude

Welcome to our continuing dialogue of Love. My message for you today is: With the right attitude one can conquer all obstacles in life.

What is attitude? Attitude is the personal energy of an individual that helps determine our intention to any event or experience This energy may be effected by the response from a person. If your attitude towards another is to undermine or to marginalize another, then your words and actions follow your attitude. If you have a positive attitude towards life and your intention is to help others, then the energy flowing from your heart will help support others in times of trouble and tribulation. Even a person who has suffered a catastrophic event can overcome the pain of such an incident through right attitude.

What is beautiful about attitude is that we choose our attitude every day. For those with good attitudes, life becomes a walk in the park. As to those with a bad attitude, life becomes a struggle as their attitude sets their course for any encounter they may have. So, today practice having a good attitude. Practice patience, kindness, understanding, and compassion. By incorporating these qualities into your life, your are living a life of right action. Your life will be filled with wholesome deeds which will create wholesome effects in your life. In all this new found beauty, the drudgery of life will be replaced by the magnanimous beauty of existence. It all starts with a good attitude!

ATTITUDE

“ The longer I live, the more I realize the impact of attitude on life. Attitude to me, is more important than facts. It is more important than the past, than education, than money, than circumstances, than failures, than successes, than what other people think or say or do. It is more important than appearance, giftedness or skill. It will make or break a company…a church…a home. The remarkable thing is we have a choice everyday regarding the attitude we will embrace for that day. We can not change our past…we cannot change the fact that people will act in a certain way. We can not change the inevitable. The only thing we can do is play on the one string we have, and that is our attitude…I am convinced that life is 10% what happens to me and 90% how I react to it. And so it is with you…we are in charge of our Attitudes.”

by Charles Swindoff

Have a wonderful week. The first five readers to send me an email regarding this blog to answerisloveinc@gmail.com will receive a free t-shirt with our new copyright “Luv” logo (valued $19.95). Help support our cause of bringing Love to the world. It is our only hope. Please free to include your opinion and feed back of the site and of the blog for this week. Thank you all for your time and continued encouragement. Sincerely, Luis J. Rojas, A Messenger of Love.
