After flunking out at teaching high school English, the author worked as a reporter, photographer, editor, and ersatz movie reviewer at her local paper for a decade.

She is a graduate of Christian Brothers University and The University of Memphis.

A native of the Arkansas Delta, she lives with her husband and two children and their beloved rescue dog.
