Gary Orleck Readers’ Favorite announces the review of the Non-Fiction – Memoir book “Travels with Maurice” by Gary Orleck, currently available on Amazon.

Readers’ Favorite is one of the largest book review and award contest sites on the Internet. They have earned the respect of renowned publishers like Random House, Simon & Schuster, and Harper Collins, and have received the “Best Websites for Authors” and “Honoring Excellence” awards from the Association of Independent Authors. They are also fully accredited by the BBB (A+ rating), which is a rarity among Book Review and Book Award Contest companies.

“Travels with Maurice: An Outrageous Adventure in Europe in 1968 is a fascinating book. I was hooked from the first page, although I won’t say what happened, as that would spoil the introduction. Gary L. Orleck is a fine writer who tells tale after tale of incidents that might be hard to believe if not for the captivating detail with which he writes, along with his obvious nostalgia. As Orleck himself said, “no one could make this story up.” Readers will quickly fall under Orleck’s spell and develop great affection, and yes, envy, for him and his friend Maurice as they experience their incredible journey through Europe. I highly recommend this wonderful story to anyone.”

Gary Orleck TRAVELS WITH MAURICE AN OUTRAGEOUS ADVENTURE IN EUROPE IN 1968

Find out how I, a nobody from the state of Rhode Island, was invited to travel Europe with the son of the richest man in the world at the time. We drove 19,965 miles through12 different European countries in 10 weeks. We dined with Kings and Queens in Denmark, we gambled with the Shah of Iran in Monte Carlo, we had high tea with her Imperial Highness of Iran Princess Farah in Paris, we were rescued out of handcuffs by Shirley Temple Black during the Russian Invasion of Czechoslovakia, and Brigitte
Bardot - The sexiest women in the world at the time - "Would you please dance with me? And that does not even scratch the surface of this mind-blowing adventure of 10lifetimes that took me an additional ten years just to process.
How did my companion turn a ship around in the middle of the ocean just because we missed its departure? Within 8 hours of sending his dad to Iran, how did 30-$100 bills get hand-delivered to our hotel room in Switzerland even though no banks or wiring
offices were open? After being told by the telephone company in Nice, France, to put my call through to the USA, how did my companion from the first payphone have me talking to my dad in the USA in 30 seconds flat?
How did Israel in 1948 get the oil needed to survive when no country in the world could or would sell the oil? Is it true that his father had permission from the Israeli government to build an entire city in Israel to move the total Jewish population from Tehran, Iran, to Israel at his own expense? I was one of only eight people in the world who knew about this history-changing plan
as I saw the actual blueprint of the city, which cost more than I would earn in my lifetime.
Wait till you hear of the story of the 100 suitcases or the one about the prisoner who returned voluntarily to Dachow, a German concentration camp after escaping and being
free.
If “NOTHING BOGGLES THE MINDS OF MEN LIKE THE SIMPLE TRUTH - and that is what this book does but in a good way.” I promise that you will be glad that you read it
because as you do, you will come to realize it must be true because nobody could make this story up-NOBODY!"
It has 34-5-star and a 4.7 out of 5 rating on Amazon and if you would just read those reviews on Amazon you will want to read the book and write your own reviews - I guarantee it.
So, In Advance allow me to say THANK YOU to ALL who do so.

Gary Orleck 5 stars for Travels with Maurice: An Outrageous Adventure in Europe in 1968 by @GOrleck #bookreview

Title: Travels with Maurice: An Outrageous Adventure in Europe in 1968

Author: Gary Orleck

Genre: Memoir, Coming of Age, Friendship, Travel and History of the 60’s

Book Blurb:

A simple “thank you” led to the trip of a lifetime, along with an unbreakable friendship of two opposites. See them come of age while rubbing elbows with the rich and famous like the Shah and Queen of Iran, The Who, Paul McCartney, Brigitte Bardot, and even Shirley Temple Black. An unbelievable story, yet it’s true because nobody could make this story up. Find out things the rich and famous do not want you to know.

"I was pleasantly surprised by this warm-hearted, broken-hearted book, and found myself genuinely quite touched by it. The geo-political study and dark undertone of religious persecution added another dimension to its quality. In fact, I’d go as far to say that, put simply, I believe there is something in this wonderful book which might appeal to all readers, for numerous reasons." —Matt McAvoy 5-Star Book Review

My Review:

Some true tales are told to preserve historically significant facts. This book is a tribute to a man of his times but imminently enjoyable as a read for everyone. I kept being struck that Travels with Maurice was kind of like Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous on steroids.

The tales are detailed too much to be invented. It is a simple fact that only living an experience like this can generate a book like this. If like me, then other readers will have never dabbled their toe in such fancy waters. It is incredible to read the escapades.

The key aspects of the story are set between 1966 and 1968 and you get an intimate look at those times. There are laughs, there are tears. This is an incredibly personal account and one that is for the masses to enjoy.

Very well written. This book is a tribute to a man not many of us knew. This book is a homage to a lifestyle view ever enjoyed. A very well-written book that will appeal to all who read it.

Praise for Travels With Maurice An Outrageous Adventure In Europe In 1968 by Gary Orleck

“And it is breathtakingly moving on occasion. Revealing Maurice’s untimely death right from the opening adds a whole undertone of sadness to the book which doesn’t really go away, but in fact slowly builds as the two friends navigate their complex and multi-layered relationship; in Maurice’s case, what is of most interest is that those layers are being continuously added throughout, until a character who began as a simplistic, naïve, fun-loving socialite starts to gradually emerge as an increasingly flawed young man, insecure and from a tremendously complicated background..” 5-Stars MATT McAvoy

“This memoir describes incidents from Orleck’s “bromance” with Maurice, from his initial introduction to him at school through the memorable trip and beyond, to the days where their contact was not as frequent, their lives inevitably going their separate ways.” - Rachel Deeming, (Scuffed Granny)

“A chance encounter with Maurice, who refers to Gary as Garree, brings on the adventure. "I could see his mind working for a moment before he responded. 'Garree, let's say that we each take three thousand dollars with us and when one of us goes broke, we'll both come back home." This story is about the life that Gary led, and each time he and Maurice would meet, it was always interesting, and sometimes dangerous. I enjoyed reading Gary's story, as well as Maurice's story, because one adventure changed their lives. It's a lifetime of stories, and very enjoyable,” – 4-Stars Amy’s Book Shelf Review
