The second copy might make a good Christmas gift for a friend. Yes, I'm 100% Canadian (my mother's side goes back to the 1600 French settlers and my great, great grandmother was Anishinaabe). Though I currently live in the Netherlands, you'll find half the novel is in Canada (including the Baffin Islands... doesn't get more "great white north" than that). Are you also Canadian?(less)

My birthday webinar, last Thursday, was called "unprecedented in the 47-year history of the Prometheus Award precisely because of its big and suspenseful reveal, and its emotional impact" by Michael Grossberg, co-founder and secretary of The Libertarian Futurist Society.

Here's how Grossberg described the video recording, which I released on Friday:

"If you were nominated for a Prometheus Award fo

Powerless by Harry Turtledove
"That was horrifying. Really well written, and a terrifying book to read in April of 2025. Turtledove does an excellent job blending the every day mundanities of life with the horror of living under a dictatorship. And yet I walk away with hope, which" Read more of this review »
