D.R. Martin is the author and illustrator of The Grim Chronicles, as well as, a husband, father, and housemate of two cats in the suburbs of Chicago. The youngest of eight kids in a navy family, he pursued his love of storytelling with a B.A. in Film Studies from the University of Utah and an M.A. in Media Management from Columbia College Chicago.
Soon thereafter, while working as an E.S.L. teacher in Bangkok, Thailand, he conceived of The Grim Chronicles series. Most likely best known for his world-renowned image Dolphin and Cow ©, he took to writing like a duck takes to quidditch.
