Ben Barrowman is the creator and author of the Parmesan Pig Book Series. He has a passion for creative rhythmic storytelling that helps children understand the importance of supporting one another.
Both Ben and his wife Lauren grew up in a town just outside of Albany, NY. They currently own a home in that same town, and work within the town. Lauren is an Elementary School Teacher. They have 2 children, Connor and Jane.
Ben currently works an Associate with The Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA) Service Members, Veterans, and their Families' (SMVF) Technical Assistance Center at Policy Research Associates, Inc. This profession deals with themes of wellness, mental and behavioral health, and peer support - all of which are core elements throughout the Parmesan Pig Book Series.
In previous roles, Ben was an Associate at Ayco, a Goldman Sachs Company. He has a Master’s degree in Business Administration from The College of Saint Rose, and a Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, with a Physics Minor, from Stonehill College.
Ben has a passion for healthy living and wellbeing. As a type-1 diabetic himself, he has dedicated himself to the local Diabetes fundraisers – including the American Diabetes Tour De Cure, previously serving as a team captain, corporate spokesman, and member of the executive committee. He emphasizes routine exercise and maintains a healthy diet, including an alcohol-free tobacco-free lifestyle. Ben supports and stays in contact with friends who strive to live sober....more
