Lára is a 32-year-old writer and former professional footballer from Iceland. For more than a decade, she pursued a career in professional football, competing at the highest levels both in her home country and abroad.

Alongside her athletic achievements, Lára has cultivated a deep academic and personal interest in understanding addiction and how it affects all of society.

Writing has become one of Lára's most powerful outlets. She sees it not only as a personal catharsis, but also as a way to challenge societal norms and spark conversations around addiction, sports, equality, queerness and other pressing social topics.
