New Series!
I've been a little quiet on here lately, but I've been busy writing! Last year I wrote a trilogy about the Cruz brothers. They shared a traumatic childhood that grew from their dad's inability to accept that youngest son Max developed a childhood stutter. As the dad's exasperated taunting of Max escalated, so did Max's anxiety. And then one day he stopped talking altogether...
The Distance Between Us: A Hidden-Identity Romance: This is Max's story. He's been locked in trauma and silence for years. And then bubbly Lily moves in next door, and suddenly almost anything feels possible.
The Friendship Divide: A Friends-to-Lovers Romance: When Max shut down, his brother Jake stepped in as his protector, father, and best friend. Now that Max is standing on his own two feet, where does that leave Jake? And how long should he keep protecting Max by holding on to an explosive family secret?
What Separates Us: An Enemies-to-Lovers Romance: When their family detonated, Mitch took off to California, taking with him a few explosive secrets of his own, secrets so powerful that he's given up his home, family, and well-being just to keep them hidden. When Jake's big secret finally emerges, is it time for Mitch to release some truth bombs of his own?
So that's the new series. The first two books (Max and Jake's stories) are out now, available in Kindle Unlimited, ebook, and paperback formats. Mitch's story is available for ebook preorder.
Once Mitch's story is live, I'll be turning my attention back to the Curveball Incident Series, which is my baseball romance series. Book one was about Zach, the pitcher who walked away from his contract and team when he couldn't handle the mistake he made. Book two was about Tommy, the player Zach injured. Tommy found himself on the Injured List and in the sidelines of the life he once knew.
Book three will be up next in the series, and it's about Zach's big brother Zeke. When Zach melted his own career down, he had no idea the effects that his decision would have on his big brother and Zeke's own baseball dreams. Book four will be a villain's tale! Remember Jim? Emma's former fiance? The last time we saw him, he was getting tossed out of Emma and Zach's wedding. What happened next, and can he ever possibly redeem himself after the crazy scene he caused or the pain he inflicted on Emma and Zach?
So that's what's on the horizon here in my little world of romances with heart, longing, angst, banter, and baseball. (:

The Bridesmaid is live!
The last time I wrote, I said that copyediting was starting for my next book The Bridesmaid: A Romantic Suspense Story. I'm happy to announce that not only is the editing done, but the book is out and live in both paperback and ebook formats! Get your copy today (just in time for Christmas presents!).
Here's a little blurb about it:
Julianna’s thirty, single, and ready for an adventure as she heads out on the trip of a lifetime to London, but she doesn’t find adventure; adventure finds her! Julianna meets a sexy and mysterious spy and finds herself in the middle of a terrorist threat, and that’s just on day one. She wanted an escape, but what she stumbles into is more than she possibly could have bargained for…and way more heartache than she ever could have imagined. How can she navigate love, danger, independence, and a rigorous sightseeing itinerary…and still keep her heart intact?
This book is unlike any other book I've written. For one, it's a romantic suspense story. It's got intrigue and danger right along with love and romance. It's also different in that it's set in the past. Not purposely, but I wrote the first draft a long time ago. The plot is very much tied to the post-9/11 world it was written in. Sure, I could have tried to update the technology and pull it into the present, but I felt like it would lose some of its spark. Plus, much of what happens wouldn't be likely in the current world we live in, with our phones attached to us at all times.
A third way that it differs from my other books is that it stays in Julianna's point of view. Her love interest is both mysterious and a spy. I considered adding his POV, but in the end I decided that adding his perspective would change that feel of mystery for the reader. (Plus there's only so much I know about the world of spies, lol.)
This book means a lot to me. It was the first book I ever wrote, and the one that helped me prove to myself that I could do it. While my writing style has changed over the years, I'm so happy and proud of this story. I can't wait to hear what you think about it. Be sure to review it on Amazon, Goodreads, Bookbub, or your favorite site!

Summer of Writing
Whoa! I can't believe how long it's been since I updated the blog, but the good news is I've been so busy writing that the time slipped away. That means I have a ton of updates for you. I've also been doing a bunch of mom stuff, like taking my son to football practices and helping my daughter get ready to go to college. It's nonstop!
Okay, so here are those updates I promised you!:
-> The Honeymoon: A Second-Chance Romance is no longer only available as a Kindle Vella story. It's now live as an ebook (exclusive to Amazon) and paperback (available widely in online bookstores).
-> I now have six Kindle Vella stories available, and five of those are complete.
-> The incomplete Kindle Vella story I'm currently writing is book three in the Curveball Incident Series! The title is Thrown: A Baseball Romance. Recall that book one told Zach and Emma's story. Book two was about Tommy Layton, the rookie who Zach injured, and Lucy. Book three is unusual in that it's not about a current baseball player; instead, it's about Zeke, Zach's older brother, who was a pitcher himself until all his dreams were ripped away. I hinted at this story in the novella Curveball: A Wedding Novella. That short book is available as a paperback on Amazon, or a free giveaway here: https://dl.bookfunnel.com/vbv2ot6bxx
-> Copyediting will begin soon on my next book, The Bridesmaid: An Insta-Love Romance, which is currently only available as a Kindle Vella story.
If you'd like to keep track of what I'm writing and where you can find it, here's a link that gathers all that information into one convenient spot: https://linktr.ee/annetrowbridgebooks
Sorry this was such a huge information overload, but like I said, I've been busy! (:

Claim your free novella today!
Curveball: A Wedding Novella is live! This book continues the story of Zach and Emma, who readers met in Curveball: A Love Story.
Readers can get the free ebook version with sign-up to my newsletter here: https://dl.bookfunnel.com/vbv2ot6bxx
I will also offer a paperback version for sale for readers who don't like to read on screens. It's currently being processed and should be live on Amazon within the next 24-48 hours. It will also be available soon widely on other sites, such as Barnes & Noble.
Here's the blurb for the novella:
Zach and Emma are getting married!
Everything should be perfect...and then the guests showed up.
Zach should be having the best weekend of his life: He’s in intensive training, working to take full advantage of the opportunity he’s been given to recapture his old spot on the Yankees, and he’s getting married in a romantic ceremony on the beach to the love of his life. Emma should be in heaven too. She’s marrying her soulmate, plus she gets to do what she loves best: read guidebooks and plan a series of excursions for their wedding guests.
The weekend should be absolutely perfect…but instead, everything is a total disaster. Emma’s family can’t accept that she broke her engagement to Jim, and they don’t trust that Zach is going to be a worthy partner, given his past. As if getting ripped apart by half the wedding guests weren’t bad enough, Zach’s got problems of his own, since the baseball world isn’t exactly lining up to welcome him back into the fold.
With everyone against them and nothing working according to plan, how can Zach and Emma launch their new lives together? This novella is a follow-up to the book Curveball: A Love Story, where Zach and Emma’s story began.
This title is book 1.5 in The Curveball Incident Series.
Please let me know on social media or through reviews whether you enjoyed revisiting Emma and Zach as much as I enjoyed writing this novella!

Updates!
Lots of stuff is happening in my writing world. The biggest change, which you might have already noticed, is that the Curveball Incident Series has new covers! The original covers did a terrific job of letting readers know the books are set in the world of baseball, but they didn't do much to tell readers they were romances. I'd been wanting to address that issue for a while, but since the novella is coming, I figured I'd better change the covers now so that the novella's cover matches the new look. Now that the covers are done, work on the novella can get back on track. As a reminder, the novella will be be:
About Zach and Emma (from Curveball). Available for sale widely as a paperback. Available for free as an ebook for my newsletter subscribers!I've also got two Kindle Vellas available, if you enjoy reading in short episodes. The Honeymoon, which is complete as a Vella, will be my next book that I'll release once the novella comes out. The Bridesmaid is still being updated on Vella (on Amazon).
I've been working on a new book as well. It's pretty different from anything I've done before. For one thing, the main characters are in their 20s, so they're younger than my previous characters. And I'm writing it in first person, which is new for me. Much of the romance world has shifted from third person to first person, so I'm giving it a try! I don't have an official blurb written for it yet, but the trope is two people getting to know each other online and anonymously. Sort of a pen-pal kind of story. I'll let you know when I've got an official blurb!

Curveball for Free!
For this weekend, the Curveball: A Love Story ebook (on Amazon) is free! The lovely folks at Hello Books gave me this text to use for promoting it:
One of my books will be featured in a free book promotion this Friday. You can sign up here: hellobooks.com to receive the link, not just to my book but to many others as well.
They feature all kinds of genres, so check it out! You could scoop up a bunch of free reads.
Speaking of Curveball, the copyediting on the novella is about half-way done, but I got sidetracked. I'm going to redo the series covers first before moving on with the novella. My worry with the current series covers is that while they definitely convey that they are about baseball, they don't tell readers that they are romances. That's why I think a cover renovation is necessary. Since the novella is coming out soon, it makes sense to redo the covers now before that one launches.
I've also been spending a lot of time working with Kindle Vella, where I have two stories. Kindle Vella, which you can find on Amazon, is for fans of episodic reading, meaning each story is told in episodes. Right now I have my book The Honeymoon: A Second-Chance Romance up there (it's complete). And I've started posting episodes for The Bridesmaid: An Insta-Love Romance, which is the first book I ever wrote. Check them out! (The first three episodes of every Vella story are always free.)
Finally, I've started writing a new book. I don't have an official blurb yet, but the basic story is that an outgoing woman falls in love with a guy she's working with over email, and she has no idea he's her shy neighbor. I haven't settled on a title yet, but I'm tossing a few around. Long-Distance Neighbors? The Distance to You? Something along those lines.
Scoop up your free ebooks, then read on in the series if you haven't already. Book two, Out of the Park, is out now!

So I did a thing...
I'm trying something new: I'm releasing my book The Honeymoon: A Second-Chance Romance in Kindle Vella before publishing it (it will be available next year in paperback, ebook, and in Kindle Unlimited).
Kindle Vella, if you're not familiar with it, is a somewhat new venture by Amazon. In it, readers have the opportunity to read serialized content in a variety of genres. The first three episodes of each story are free, and then readers pay with tokens for subsequent episodes (which are like chapters). The number of tokens charged is based on how long the episode is.
I just uploaded the prologue and the first three chapters. The prologue and the first two chapters are free, and it will cost 14 tokens for third chapter (which is episode four...I hope this makes sense!).
If you want to wait for the paperback, ebook, or KU versions of the story, no worries! But if you're intrigued by this new platform, or if you're excited to get your hands on my next book, then check it out! The episodes are currently in review, but they should be live in a day or so. I'll start uploading subsequent episodes regularly once they go live.

Wider Release
My ebooks are still exclusive to Amazon, but you can now find my paperbacks on a wider variety of sites, including Barnes & Noble, Walmart . com, Books a Million, and many more! No matter where you live or prefer to shop, you should have options and a variety of ways to find my paperbacks.
I'm getting closer to finishing my draft of the Curveball novella I'm writing. The ebook version will be a gift for my newsletter subscribers, but I'm planning to sell a paperback version as well for those readers who don't like the ebook format. The events in the novella will take place chronologically between the those in Curveball and Out of the Park, and will be number 1.5 in the series. It will also contain a few hints about what (and who) the third book in the series will be about! I don't have a publication date or blurb for that one yet, but just know it's in the works!
Copyediting has started on The Honeymoon, and that one is still coming out early in 2023. It's a standalone book and isn't set in the Curveball world.
Giving thanks for my readers on this Thanksgiving weekend!

Sales and freebies!
I wanted to let you know that Curveball: A Love Story was accepted for a Bargainbooksy newsletter promo as well as a Bookraid newsletter promo. What does this mean for you? Only good things, because all weekend long (now through November 15), you can purchase the ebook for only 99 cents! I'd say they'd make great stocking stuffers, but, well....
My other happy news is that I'm right in the middle of writing a novella to give away as a present to my newsletter subscribers. Sign up for the newsletter now to make sure you get your copy when it goes live.
The events of the novella happen chronologically after those in Curveball: A Love Story, and they continue Emma and Zach's story. I don't want to give away spoilers for either book, but let's just say that the novella centers around an event that is mentioned in the Curveball epilogue (and is set on a Florida beach...).

It's live!
Out of the Park, my follow-up book to Curveball, is live on Amazon! I'm so excited to share Tommy's story with you. Tommy, you might remember, is the rookie who gets hit by that blistering curveball off pitching ace Zach Hiller. Zach's story, and the way his life unfolded from that terrible incident, is the subject of Curveball. But two lives were affected in that split second. Yes, Zach's life veered off in ways he never could have imagined, but so did Tommy's.
Tommy was a rookie on the Baltimore Orioles who was making a meteoric rise in the Majors. He was even getting Rookie of the Year and MVP chatter, but all of those exciting possibilities vanished in an instant when Zach released that wild curveball. Suddenly he's injured, away from his team and the sport he loves, and swimming in depression and regret.
Lucy's got her own depression and regret, and she certainly doesn't need anyone else's. But when these two worlds collide one day in the park, well...maybe life doesn't seem so awful after all!
Get your copy of Out of the Park today, and find out what happens to Tommy. And who knows, maybe Zach and Emma might even make an appearance!
Speaking of Zach and Emma, I'm currently writing a new story for them. It's going to be a novella, free to my newsletter subscribers. Details coming soon!
