3.5 stars. An interesting speculation on the life of Vergil, who has very little biographical information available to help the biographer. Ruden is always careful to clarify when she's indulging in speculation, which is great - it leaves readers cle ...more
The Cross Thieves by Alan Fyfe
"The Cross Thieves is an absolute gut-punch of a read. Told over the course of single night it examines the themes of race, religion, revenge, and what happens when people take justice into their own hands.
Central to the story are two teenagers, Gark" Read more of this review »

"I lied … I mean I haven’t read this one but meantime I’m using this to review the sequel The Cross Thieves ISBN 9781923023568 which isn’t on Goodreads yet. I entered through Good Reading magazine and this is the second early review book I’ve received" Read more of this review »

As a long time student (and writer) of prose poetry, this had that little something extra for me that a lot of Australian attempts at the form lack (though not all). A dedicated fusion of the poetic and prosaic that I enjoyed from cover to cover.
