Thursday Micro-fiction

From the weird world of Twitter #vss365:

By the light of fireflies, we watched the kindred of mistletoe step lightly upon the surface of the lake. They danced an enchantment of future memory, conjuring dreams to delight the senses and confound the wise. You sang of hope with a voice of turquoise and jasmine.

At midnight, they cracked open a barrel of Wicked Kindred. Candles were lit and cream of asparagus was served to the sound of Barry’s fiddle and a button accordion. A couple of ghosts appeared in the kitchen, but they seemed to enjoy the atmosphere, so nobody minded.

A shared appreciation of fine art is all well and good. But I can’t see a kindred spirit in a woman who licks her own eyeballs in public. We’re both fond of fusilli, but she only ever wears purple clothes. If she gives me another pheasant, I’ll know it’s not meant to be.
