Elizabeth Gilbert
“Do you have the courage? Do you have the courage to bring forth this work? The treasures that are hidden inside you are hoping you will say yes. [Author was quoting Jack Gilbert, which he reportedly had said to a student]”
Elizabeth Gilbert, Big Magic: Creative Living Beyond Fear

Natalie Goldberg
“...and though death is howling at our backs and life is roaring at our faces, we can just begin to write, simply begin to write what we have to say.”
Natalie Goldberg

Frida Kahlo
“At the end of the day, we can endure much more than we think we can.”
Frida Kahlo

Hilary Mantel
“It is the absence of facts that frightens people: the gap you open, into which they pour their fears, fantasies, desires.”
Hilary Mantel, Wolf Hall

Frank Herbert
“I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I will remain.”
Frank Herbert, Dune
