The first day of the rest of my life!

Hi all,

This seems to me to be an auspicious day to start my blog. It is 3:16 p.m. on the 24th March 2016. As of 11.45 this a.m. I retired from teaching forever - after 42 years. No-one at my last school believes it. They expect me to be back. But that's not the cunning plan. During my years of teaching I have written 40 books - 38 published. I plan to keep writing and the target is 3 books a year for as long as the market will stand it. I am in fact 30,000 words into the new opus, the first of a Roman spy series. As of 6 a.m. tomorrow I plan to be back into research - hoping to get the book finished by May because (as for the last 10 Summers) it's off to Egypt for June. Research does not stop there of course, as Antony and Cleopatra feature largely in the plans. There will be more when I have more to report...
