The Holomovement

I’m posting this newsletter from my friend Emanuel Kuntzelman.
In case you are feeling somewhat discombobulated or at the tipping point with your own patience due to the stress of a pandemic, political chaos, climate change and the breakdown of truth, there is hope on the horizon. It’s called the Holomovement. It is radical collaboration in action, founded in love, with a collective mission that continues to honor the autonomy of each of our diverse purpose-driven efforts.
American physicist David Bohm’s initial definition of the “holomovement” might have been focused on the cosmos, but it is a well of inspiration for how we can come together culturally and spiritually in a cohesive movement of cooperation. I proposed the idea that we use this term to describe the movement of movements towards evolving consciousness several years ago, but now its true time has come. We need a collective cultural shift toward honoring presence, rediscovering the beauty in nature and reflecting on purpose to prioritize what truly needs to get done.
In this global crisis, we can divide ourselves in despair or come together in determination to find solutions. There is a rising coherence around the world and the darker and more complicated the situation becomes, the more willing and ready people are to embrace a return to truth, beauty and goodness. The Holomovement represents the coalescing coherence of the millions of groups and organizations worldwide as they move towards common ground seeking unity, purpose, peace and higher consciousness. During these past few months, the Holomovement has been gaining momentum and I am encouraged that it will unify and empower this growing collective to continue serving the highest cause of humanity. I’ve shared a few links below if you are interested in learning more and connecting with this growing community.

I’ve been honored to present and share the Holomovement and its unifying principles in a number of ways:
Event Calendar:
Please save the dates for the Global Oneness Summit, organized by Humanity’s Team, happening online Oct. 16 – 24, 2021. I am humbled to be a featured presenter for the following talks:
Facilitated by Jude Currivan, we discuss personal experiences that have helped members of the panel discover the essence of our Oneness in our everyday lives. Wednesday, Oct. 20 / 9:00 a.m. Pacific: “The Holomovement as the Crucible of Convergence for the Cosmic Self”
Rather than feel defeated or depressed by the chaos of these times, many small groups and organizations are emerging to find solutions to the challenges and restore civilization to its natural state of harmony. This sociological reaction we call the “Holomovement” is gaining strength and momentum with each day. Our panel explores the cosmological, psycho-spiritual and sociological implications of the once and future Holomovement. What are the core principles of the Holomovement? How will it foster the transformative change our society needs? How can we participate and become part of the solution? Friday, Oct. 22 / 9:00 a.m. Pacific: “Trauma as a Portal to the Universal Self”
There are times when the shock of experiencing a trauma brings out the best in us and our response can become a transformative experience. Join me in a panel discussion with Amikaeyla Gaston, Dr. Marty K. Casey and Michael Sandler as they talk about their response to trauma in their lives and how they became stronger and even used the experience to build character and fortify their careers in life. Rather than defeating us, trauma can be converted into a portal to our Universal Self.
You can learn more and register for free here on the Global Oneness Summit event page.

Seeing Through

Seeing Through, Feeling Into, and Hearing Truth
The other night I had a disturbing dream that woke me. I was in a house, at the base of a staircase that wound up through several floors. I could see that way above was an old man isolated in the attic, feeling depressed. He didn’t know how to escape his isolation. I wanted to go get him when suddenly my attention was drawn to the wall to my left. The physical wall became more transparent and I began to see into it; it was becoming a giant computer screen, receiving images from something akin to a thousand-times amplified internet and it was simultaneously sending information from within the house.
The creepiness of this impacted me first, making me feel that Big Brother was watching, that there was no such thing as privacy. If the walls were transmitters, if matter itself was transmitting unending information, the amount of underlying interaction of data sources with other data sources was overwhelming. There was a strange sense that “I can’t even count on the physical world being physical anymore!” I couldn’t process the impact of “seeing through” to this underlying reality. And I jumped out of the dream.
Later I meditated on it and this is what came to me: The old man stuck in the attic represents our old way of perceiving reality, the linear perception that keeps us feeling separate from each other—which is, in effect, becoming the kind of relic we might store in the attic. I wanted to help free him from his isolation, to help him merge into the newer perception that is spherical and holographic, and entirely in the present moment. In the new perception there is no isolation; there is infinite connection with all knowing. But I had to immerse myself in it first and not be afraid of being overwhelmed by the fact that knowing anything/everything in the present moment is normal.
What Ideas Are We Assimilating Unconsciously?
This theme of “seeing through” ordinary reality is knocking on my door in various ways. For instance, I remember “hearing into” a few recent television ads. One said: “A truly unlimited life means truly unlimited data.” I wonder how much the general public believes this. To me, a truly unlimited life means truly unlimited perception, which is a function of being centered, working with both the left and right brain, and accessing one’s own soul, not faster internet speeds and more gigabytes of data. Relating this back to my dream, data—and left-brain dominated perception—seems to be the very thing that keeps the old man isolated.
Another series of data-related ads used cute, precocious kids talking to a man in a business suit, who asks these “experts”: What’s better—bigger or smaller? “BIGGER!” the kids scream. In another he asks: What’s better—slower or faster? “FASTER!” the kids scream. In another he asks: What’s better—one or two? “TWO!” They scream. Is their cuteness being used to subdue the clarity of our critical mind? I’m reminded of the drug ads where a friendly, reassuring voice tells me, “Serious, sometimes fatal events may occur.” Doesn’t sound so bad, eh?
Is the wisdom in what’s small, slow, and singularly focused being lost in our greed for speed and quantity? Are we seeing through these smokescreens? Are the voices that come from our screens given extra authority just because they come from that supposedly great source of wisdom beyond the “wall” of the computer monitor or iPad screen? Are we seeing through the idea of quantifiable “data” to the experience of direct knowing of anything we need to know, just by opening our perception to different frequencies?
Moving Forward Into A New Energy Reality
Lately, I—and I imagine most of us—have felt somewhat restricted to a small reality. When I “be” with it, I sense I’ve been gestating something new, or rewiring myself in some invisible way, or needing to be house-centered as a way to remember to be in my body. The other day, walking took on a strange tactile oddness; it was as though I were pushing forward into a field of energy that had a different frequency and the “skin of it” was prickly and a bit springy. It was repelling me. After noticing it, the energy-reality I’d been in suddenly felt like it was surrounding me in a kind of slow dullness, making me feel that I didn’t want to do anything.
When I finally pulled my wits together and focused into the moment to see what was really happening underneath—to “see through” the external symptoms—I realized I needed to adjust my own vibration to a level that matched the new frequency ahead of me. When I did, my experience of moving into and through it felt smooth and slippery, like shooting down a greased sliding board.
It occurs to me that the equinoxes (approx December 21 and June 20)—when day and night, and dark and light, and perhaps even physical and nonphysical realities are equal—may be very effective times to focus on “seeing through.” At these times it may be easiest to access the inner realms because the frequency is closest to that of the “outer realms.”
So: How is the nonphysical reality affecting your physical one? What messages of guidance are trying to surface? What are you becoming aware of? What needs your attention?

The 9 Stages of the Transformation Process: Stages 7-9

Excerpted from Penney Peirce’s book,
Frequency: The Power of Personal Vibration
You Can Understand Transformation — Here’s the Mini-Series!
Let’s get a feel for the nine stages in the process of transformation and look at the symptoms of the way each one is showing up in your life and in society. Note that each step of the process naturally flows into the next and at each stage, you have a choice. You can resist and contract, stopping or slowing the flow to try to keep things at the old comfort level, which only stalls your progress, damming the river and creating more pressure and agitation. Or, you can trust that a higher sanity is directing the flow, that it’s just right for you, and surrender to having the experiences you need. As you let the flow move through you, the frequency of your body, emotions, and mind rises and you experience the benefits of each phase. After the big turning point in phase 6, there are no more disruptive effects on your energy and awareness. It’s all “up” from here!
7. You Re-emerge into the World Like the Phoenix
Part of identifying yourself with your soul’s vibration is that your perception shifts from old self to new self and life behaves differently. Now you don’t need to use will power to make life work — you see it’s already working perfectly. You understand that you’re interconnected with everyone and everything in a mutually supportive state and that life helps you do and have whatever you need. You reexamine everything in your life, hold it up to a new standard, and make radical revisions. You become interested in self-fulfillment and self-responsibility, are “full of yourself” in the best sense, and want to do something innovative that coes from the cocreation of your body, mind, and soul.
I remember what I am here for and now I want to get on with it!
I’m excited about my own destiny!
I can easily hold my new frequency,
even when other people vibrate at a lower level.
As you see others who haven’t yet made the shift, you don’t fear them as powerful wet blankets who can bring you down. Instead you take the role of teacher, healer, or mentor and use your higher frequency for the greater good. You are hopeful, enthusiastic, optimistic, faithful, and inspired. Innovation abounds. You are motivated to recognize your your destiny, engage with it fully, and live it. You look deeply for the work and self-expression you’re “built for,” honor the “deep tendencies” that have been present in you from birth, and eliminate any driving motives so you can find natural effortless expression. Now it’s a top priority to develop intuition, keep your heart open and soft, and discover surprising new directions, locations, and benefactors that occur in the absence of fear. You receive support, messages, opportunities, and miracles, and feel deserving and encouraged.
Your most real motive is not to accomplish goals, but to be multifaceted and so saturated into the world, so in the flow, that you might even be able to shapeshift if life decides to send you in a radical new direction. Materializing goals along the way is much easier and more fun, and your concept of time totally changes as past and future disappear into an expanded present moment.
8. Relationship, Family, and Group Experience Are Revolutionized
Now, you feel how intimately individual and collective consciousness interpenetrate each other and know yourself as both a personal self (me) and a collective self (us). You feel how you and others affect each others’ lives. That makes you want to be responsible for your actions and thoughts as a way to be kind to others. You don’t have to remember to practice the Golden Rule because it’s painful not to do so.
I can use my new frequency knowledge
to expand my relationships exponentially!
Other people love to help me, and I love to help them!
You are more tolerant and humanitarian. You see similarities between people and can hold differences as interesting and valuable. You work cooperatively from a feeling of fellowship and kinship, see your relationships as aspects of yourself, and are able to freely give and receive as the flow dictates. This has a profound affect on your sense of abundance and what is provided for you, empowering you to be more imaginative, creative, and productive because you know you have help and you know others need your help.
You develop a new understanding of yin/receptive and yang/dynamic energy, and the left and right brain. You learn to balance yourself with equal development of your receptive-intuitive-sourcing side and your active-focusing-creating side so your perception can be more fluid, creative, and perpetually renewed. As you understand the balance of ying and yang consciousness and energy, you draw parallels between these qualities and the male-female gender dynamics in relationships. You find a new awareness about what’s possible in relationships between two internally balanced people, along with new behavior possibilities for both genders.
You are more calm and compassionate concerning the forming and ending of relationships as you feel the souls’ purposes for coming together and moving apart. You may often be overwhelmed by the sheer magnificence of love. You may notice a broadening of the definitions of marriage, family, teamwork, organizationals, and even international politics. Collaboration, cross-pollination, sharing, role reversals, and a shift in profit motive occur, along with a proliferation of new partnerings, networks, and rapid globalization.
You are authentically yourself, without having to struggle, and at the same time you can work with the merged group mind in any team to arrive at more complex, complete, high-frequency answers, innovations, and joyful social experiences. You learn to modulate your personal frequency to match other people, groups, places, time periods, and dimensions, increasing your understanding and wisdom dramatically. This enables you to stretch into actual contact with nonphysical beings, spiritual councils, your soul group, and people who have died. You become adept in what previously were considered paranormal or supernatural consciousness skills that involve bridging and resonance, such as telepathy, teleportation, clairvoyance, spiritual healing, and psychokinesis(moving objects with your mind).
9. Enlightenment Is Grounded into Every Bit of Matter
With inspired collaboration and cocreation come shared wisdom and unbounded appreciation. Love is truly understood as the force of nature consistent throughout the cosmos, capable of miraculous things. When helping others is what you choose to do with your freedom, great nurturing is experienced by all.
I feel free and unlimited! I can come and go
through time, space, and beyond as I please.
I can create anything and know anything instantly!
Personally, you take positive steps to act on your destiny impulses and find childlike joy in achieving results based on the soul’s wisdom. When you’re in the moment, in the heart, in the body, and connected to all knowledge, energy, resources, and collaborators, you understand the power of the unified field to help you materialize your visions. You discover how the creation-materialization process works and experience the unified field as an extension of your own body. Since the outside world isn’t separate from you, your visions, goals, resources, and results — what used to be in the future or in another location — are in the moment with you, and thus they can materialize and dematerialize in response to thought. Life is not just fast, it’s instantaneous, yet you don’t feel pressured. You know how to work calmly with the natural filtering system of the present moment and the lens of your conscious mind and body.
You learn that your destiny evolves, based on your interconnection to other souls and their destinies, and you discover new ways to plan and achieve goals in a fluid world. Birth and death lose their meaning as the great punctuation marks in life; you have the experience of coming and going as you please via ascension and descension. Your body is much lighter and more transparent and you know the experience of heaven on earth.

The 9 Stages of the Transformation Process: Stages 4-6

The transformation process reaches a turning point at stage 6, and after that it’s uphill all the way!
4. You Retrench, Refortify, Resist, and Resuppress
Just as it looks like you might relieve yourself of the fear you’ve carried for years and heal emotional wounds once and for all, your ego—the aspect of your mind that’s rooted in fear and self-protection—steps in and screams, “I’m not ready to die!” It fights for preservation of the old difficult-but-familiar ways and vehemently avoids letting go and trusting. You plunge into survival behaviors — either fighting or fleeing — the ingenuity of which is staggering.
I do not have to change!
I am in my own world and I’m right!
If you’re a fighter, you might make yourself feel invulnerable and large in a tank-like SUV or opulent home, or take on the world with aggressive workaholism and fixed mental belief systems, or drink lots of strong coffee. You might champion your personality, rugged individualism, and patriotism, and be more self-righteous, boastful, narcissistic, enraged, or even violent. You might want to be famous, powerful, rich, or have cosmetic surgery and flashy possessions. You might seek security by controlling your environment and others, and when you realize you can’t control everything, you might assume an attitude of toughness, cynicism, sarcasm, or belligerent apathy and disrespect, making it cool and right to do inappropriate, unkind, and amoral things if you want to. Patriarchal power structures like government, the military, business, and religion desperately and cleverly exert influence over others and maintain control with seduction, hypnosis, bald-faced lies, and magnification of fear.
People are driving me crazy. They should just go away!
I feel trapped in conflict.
If you’re conflict-avoidant, you may resuppress threatening ideas, resist change, crave safety, retreat into a perfectly decorated cozy home with a giant television, or into relationships with parents or authoritative parental substitutes. You might eat more or less, gain weight with comfort foods or become anorexic, and numb yourself with audio and video piped directly into your head via tiny gadgets. Maybe you pretend there’s no problem by maintaining a cheery persona, or escape into nostalgia for the past, future trends, fantasies of other worlds, or even become suicidal. You may feel you are finished with life on earth and want to join the angels or extraterrestrials. There is an increase in underactivity and resistance ailments like obsessive-compulsive disorder, stroke, bone disorders, arthritis, organ failures, addiction, depression, various kinds of paralysis, and exhaustion syndromes.
The positive results of this phase are that you’re likely to experience sudden breakthroughs in all areas of your life, including healing insights about your wounds. Problems stemming from a difficult childhood can actually evaporate, isolation can give way to nurturing cooperation with others, and things that used to make you react vehemently now hardly bother you. You also see through the chaos that others are caught in, don’t buy in to the seductions, and find your own way forward with greater clarity.
5. Old Structures Break Down and Dissolve
We can only resist the inevitable for so long. As we experience ego death, at a personal and societal level, many people panic, thinking this is the end of the world. Yet it is not — it’s just the snake shedding its skin. What’s really happening is that the way you identify yourself is changing from a limited self to a very expanded one. If you act in an isolating, self-protective, controlling, or attacking way, these methods create instant negative repercussions now. It’s good at this point to seek help from a friend, therapist, minister, guru, twelve-step program, or the angels.
I need to change because nothing is working.
I have to let go. I don’t know who I am!
As you learn to clear your fear-based past, many things you thought were important and the ways you made your life meaningful, pale and become useless, even boring, and you let them go. Relationships based on codependency end. Old methods fail to produce results. Old habits die and old institutions become hamstrung and collapse. You notice more lies, disbelief, hollow stories, boring opportunities, untalented people, artless art, and pathetic attempts to cover personal weaknesses. You may feel disgusted. Your pet ideas, beliefs, and worldview won’t hold water. You’re sick of hearing yourself recite the litany of your own history and feel limited by it.
If you cling to people, possessions, situations, ideas, or habits, you are forced to let go. You may experience dramatic financial losses or bankruptcy, or lose your job, house, friends, dog or cat, or family. You may have more deaths in your life than ever before. Your well-laid plans might change because of circumstances beyond your control. Similarly, any ways society acts egotistically — dominating politicians, outrageously paid CEOs, the worship of privileged celebrities, or the church protecting pedophile priests — must fail and give way to new high-frequency behaviors.
As old forms dissolve, you might experience disillusionment. You may have little certainty left about who you are, what you can rely on, or why you’re here. You might have fuzzy boundaries and be open to invasion of all kinds — by germs, parasites, allergens, dominating friends, thieves, illegal immigrants, terrorists, and nonphysical entities. You may be forced to stop, perhaps by falling, having an accident or injury. Your body can be susceptible to loss-of-control ailments such as fainting, diarrhea, Parkinson’s, Alzheimer’s, or multiple sclerosis. Other themes to surface might be: stock market crashes, public figures who fall from favor, chaos theory, black holes, death and life-after-death, Armageddon, reincarnation, transformation, the hero’s journey, monsters and otherworldly creatures, ghosts, angels, forgiveness, fasting, and spiritual healing.
The positive results of this phase are that if you allow the dissolution of the things you don’t need, you find that external rules aren’t so necessary, that you’re being directed from inside yourself and you see that you’re living by inherent universal principles of natural harmony and order. You experience being guided effortlessly by your own highest wisdom. The failure of old structures is a natural way that life is preparing you for your new self.
6. You Enter the Void and Find Your Truest Self
You finally reach a point where you stop fighting and struggling. Nothing’s working. Perhaps you hit bottom or a mysterious enlightening moment sweeps through you one day, revealing the simple truth. You are sucked entirely into the present moment away from your controlling ego. You can’t make yourself do the things that used to work so well, and you experience the first real sense of your soul’s vibration. There is simplicity, spaciousness, quiet, freedom, and peace. As you first encounter this state, however, it may feel like emptiness and your mind may panic and jump away, back to busyness and comfortable behaviors and ideas. As you let things be, you experience the profundity of your own being, and the experience transforms into one of relief, grace, and ultimately, joy. Suddenly you know who you are with your entire body! You’ve let go, found true center, and it feels great! Ego? Who needs it! You’re fine, fantastic, in fact — just as you are. You’ve reached “the end of progress.” Doing more is not the answer.
Now you enter a period during which you may have very little motivation, feel like you’re in limbo, crave time in nature or by yourself, or question everything you’ve done so far and your goals, as they no longer seem to fit or be interesting. You don’t fall into victim thinking about these things; you’re much more neutral, as though you’re a scientist observing some alien lifeform. You focus on unconditionally accepting yourself, others, and life, and on letting go and trusting — everything. This is a time of ripening in which you saturate with the frequency of your soul and receive clear yet subtle signals directly from your core. It helps now to enter your body in a fuller way, to activate sensory and artistic awareness, appreciate beauty and simple pleasures, and take action that allows innocent childlike involvement.
When I let go, it feels good! I can feel my real self everywhere
and I love it! In fact, I prefer it, and from now on I refuse
to sacrifice this experience for anything.
In the relative stillness, you may feel that your priorities, belief systems, and molecules are being rearranged, that you’re being “rewired.” You recognize the last remnants of what’s untrue about your life and determine to disengage from participating inauthentically in the world. It may become obvious that you don’t fit well with the rest of society and you must resist the pressure from others to revert to familiar habits.
It is key to find a “felt sense” of your core self now — an experience of your home frequency, or your highest personal vibration—so you can repeatedly choose it and recenter into it whenever you drift too far and become confused. As this experience of being “at-home-in-the-center” becomes routine, you entitle yourself to prefer your new self and new reality; this is the crucial turning point where you intentionally choose who you want to be and what kind of world you want to live in. You become interested in things like the power of now, the law of attraction, meditation, centering, authenticity, the void, the soul, prayer, devotion, blessings, renewal, visionquests, and all forms of spiritual practice.
The positive results of this phase are that once you make this choice, the tide turns and you life, health, and happiness improve dramatically. You see how much better you feel physically and emotionally, how much easier it is to be creative and successful. You’re receptive to insight, remember long-forgotten truthss about yourself, and gain great understanding, often all at once. Now it’s just a matter of practicing the new habit of staying in your home frequency and managing the level of your energy and awareness.

The 9 Stages of the Transformation Process: Stages 1-3

The transformation process begins when:
1. Spirit Merges with Body, Emotions, and Mind
The physical, three-dimensional world we think of as reality is beginning to respond to an influx of high-frequency energy, much as a napping child might be lured from sleep by the intoxicating smell of cookies baking in the oven. The fourth dimension, the next level of awareness that’s just beyond you, is making itself known. Some say this is the result of distant cosmic events or a “plasma field” of cosmic energy passing through our part of the Milky Way. Whatever the cause, as the higher energy of this spiritual dimension drops “down” in frequency and begins to permeate your world, you stir and respond, stretching “up” in frequency, yearning for the mystery.
I feel excited and know there is more to life! I want something better!
You experience thinning boundaries between heaven and earth—lightening you up, accelerating your perception, and giving you the sensation of something important waiting for you behind a curtain. A process of interpenetration begins, coming in gradually intensifying waves, resulting in the 3eventual mergegr of the third and fourth dimensions. As you raise your consciousness and sensitivity levels, you catch glimpses of what’s coming.
One of the symptoms of this first stage is the emphasis on mind-body unity that we see in psychology, integrated medicine, athletics, and spiritual practices such as meditation and yoga. When mind and body become one, spirit or the soul is revealed, and you suddenly know it’s been inside and throughout everything all along. You have a revelation about what it really feels like to be in your body as your body and how conscious every cell is, and you immediately know your body’s instinctual response to any situation and why. You understand that everything physical is conscious in some way.
You may become interested in themes like attending church or spiritual groups, spiritualizing the mundane, being mindful, developing intuition, dreaming intentionally, finding your life purpose, and connecting with “supernatural” realms via crop circles, orbs, mediumship, religious mysticism, or near-death experiences. You might explore the subsurface foundations of life via physics, astronomy, microbiology, oceanography, and genetic research, or be interested in energetic power places or buried secrets — things like ancient mysteries, new medicines, extinct species, missing-link lifeforms, or inner-earth “civilizations.”
2. The Frequency of Life Increases in Every Way, Everywhere
As the spiritual frequency penetrates the physical world, which includes both the planet and your own physical body, it also saturates your mind and emotions. Your body revs to adapt to the higher vibration, which initially disturbs your comfort level. High-frequency energy activates both positive and negative emotions, which makes you more aware of them.
Your heart may pound or skip beats. You may experience waves of internal heat. Not only is your body hotter and buzzier, but now your feelings are more hyper and you may experience dramatic highs, lows, and erratic emotional releases. You become overly sensitive and electrical, and feel like you’re under pressure that never lets up. You may see how your own “heating up” process parallels global warming. It’s easy now to become intolerant of environmental noise, crowds, allergens, certain foods, or the media.
I feel shaky and nervous. Everything seems to bother me. My body aches.
I’m tired but can’t sleep. I want what I want right NOW!
You might experience a short attention span, short-term memory loss, lack of motivation, or disorientation. Physically, you can feel exhausted, be sick more than usual, or have more aches and pains. You might also feel hyperactive, impatient, irritable, and unable to relax. Insomnia is common, alternating with periods of sleeping like the dead. Many people retreat into their head to the familiarity of logic and the desire for unlimited access to information. It’s easy to become a slave to immediate gratification. You might try to escape your uncomfortable body by being absent-minded or living in a fantasy world, being distracted with problems and other people’s lives, or obsessing and worrying. There can be an increase in higher frequency “overactivity” malfunctions of the body like cancer, viruses, fevers, infections, rashes, allergies, ADHD, and nerve disorders.
The positive effects of this phase are that if you allow the high-frequency energy to flow through you and let your body adjust naturally, you experience more vitality and endurance, as well as greater awareness, which means higher frequency feelings (love, generosity, happiness, enthusiasm) and higher frequency thoughts and motivations (innovation, creativity, inspiration, forgiveness, service, healing). You then yearn to know more, explore the mysteries, and experience the soul. You understand how positive thinking and love can heal and you want to clean up your body (lose weight, detoxify, rejuvenate, exercise, move consciously and artfully).
3. The Personal and Collective Subconscious Mind Empties
As the vibratory rate of your emotions and physical body increases, subconscious blocks, which are fear-based emotions of low frequency, can no longer remain stored and suppressed. Low frequencies cannot exist in a field of high-frequency energy and awareness. The blockages respond like popcorn to heat, exploding up from their hiding places into your conscious mind. As they do, repressed memories surface and personal dramas and traumas occur, and old beliefs in limitation and negativity are unconsciously reenacted. You face shame, grief, terror, hatred, and the darkest corners of your psyche. You must decide to undertake the hero’s journey through the underworld, to penetrate into the subconscious and the unknown to find understanding. Naturally there is great resistance to doing this, and courage is required. At this stage it helps to know there are proven methods for moving ahead, the phase doesn’t last forever, and the things that are surfacing are not who you are.
Pessimism and dread tend to increase. Your dreams and fantasies become intense, even violent and frightening, and your worst-case scenarios may happen. You experience a destabilization of things that used to be in balance, anxiety and panic attacks, and you may think you’re going crazy or you’ve developed a personality disorder. Scandals, taboos, abuse, and skeletons in the closet are revealed in public. Secrecy and privacy are things of the past. You might experience explosions — aneurisms, road rage, domestic abuse, acts of terror, and volcanic eruptions — as the lid comes off the pressure cooker. Or you might develop chronic pain as memories of painful abuse surface.
I’m upset and afraid. Life is too intense and won’t let up.
My worst fears are taking shape. I can’t control myself!
As your subconscious mind opens like Pandora’s Box, you notice increased dualistic, either-or thinking. Fear beliefs are based on polarity. For example, “If I’m loud, I’ll be punished, so I must be silent.” You now begin to notice many polarities and their attached beliefs and emotions—good-bad, inside-outside, black-white, male-female, young-old, smart-stupid, beautiful-ugly, winner-loser, life-death. You learn how much willpower it takes to keep opposites separate, since the accelerated energy wants to connect them so they flow into, and turn into, each other — as in the figure-eight flow of the yin-yang symbol. When this happens, you experience the shadow side you’ve been resisting, then as the energy flow moves you on into the light side again, you see how the dark and light, in their positive aspects, actually feed energy into each other. But initially, the pressure of the energy highlights the blocks to the figure-eight flow—your prejudices, fixations, and resistances—wherever they exist in you.
Of course, it’s easier to see your unconscious fixations as they appear in other people and to think they exist only in the other: “I have to be quiet to be safe, so you’re bad for being so loud and needing so much attention.” You can’t tolerate, and want to reject things and people you feel are different from you—in looks, character, intelligence, skill, or energy level. You may feel threatened, betrayed, or jealous. You may blame and judge yourself and others, and become caught in endless flip-flopping in better-worse, attractive-repulsive, aggressive-defensive, or possessing-rejecting polarities.
There is an increase in argumentativeness, name-calling, us-vs.-them scenarios, and condemnation. Relationships, especially those based on lack of honesty and communication, have trouble, reach impasses, and break apart due to blame, criticalness, and refusal to change. You may experience divorce, legal conflict, problems with neighbors, family disputes, or a craving for the perfect soul mate. These things become more visible: hate crimes, torture, voyeurism, indulgence in taboos, reality TV, forensics and crime detection, bipartisan political pundits, caustic talk-show hosts, and psychotherapy. There can be an increase in chaos- and panic-related ailments like asthma, schizophrenia, bipolar and borderline disorders, or epilepsy.
The positive results of this phase are that if you allow the higher energy to flow through you and deal patiently and lovingly with the situations that arise, you learn you can’t avoid polarities you don’t like, but must allow every option to be part of life. You embrace the concept of “mirroring,” where what’s in me is also in you in some way, and vice versa. You learn to own both sides of any polarity, feel how they feed each other, and how you can receive energy and information from parts of yourself you’ve rejected. You gain awareness about your previously unconscious emotional triggers.

Thoughts on Police, Gangs & All Lives Matter

All this talk about defunding the police, needing fair police, needing to get rid of racist police, needing more police. Lots of blame, lots of punishment mentality swirling around, from both sides. I certainly can’t condone the brutality and gang mentality of some police, and I can’t condone the brutality and gang mentality of some people of color. Gangs with violence in their makeup are a perversion of the new Intuition Age norm of cocreation and group mind applied to solving world problems. It’s also a perversion of testosterone, an over-focus on the adrenals and under-focus on heart. What would these people turn into if they used more heart? On BOTH sides??? Gangs with heart. . .
The Black Lives Matter movement is an idea whose time has finally come. And I notice it seems to be making some headway as almost every TV ad I see is now filled with Black actors. And this is good. Though I also think: What about Asians? What about Native Americans? What about Middle Easterners, and East Indians? Shouldn’t we broaden this thing?
But getting back to the police. We definitely need more good police who understand the people they police. Men and women with good hearts, good morality, and good training. So why aren’t more people of color being recruited to join? I remember Pete Buttigieg being highly criticized for not having a racially balanced police force, and he said he had tried in every way to recruit people of color and they just weren’t interested.
Here’s an idea: Instead of defunding the police, how about over-funding them? Make salaries and benefits better. Hire talented social workers to work with the police to handle the diplomacy and psychological issues that arise, especially with domestic issues. Give new police recruits anger training and diplomacy training. The military—including the police—should not be a place where people with deep anger issues come to be able to legitimately express their frustration and hatred.
The police are a military organization, but in these days as we are all transforming, they need to transform as well into a group that represents truth, morality, and common sense, being able to communicate that well in various kinds of situations. They need to be diplomats and problem-solvers first and enforcers next when all else fails and there are emergencies. We want to count on them to save us when we need saving. Instead of just being immersed in polarity, they need to know how to integrate of opposites into something larger and more sane.
People of color with the right qualifications: Join the police force! Change it from the inside. Be an example of what you want it to be. Be leaders. There HAVE to be more open lines of communication between police and community members. More trust, more listening. Less retribution-consciousness.
I can feel into the frustration that the community has, how there is such fear for the children, for the crime, and death, and unfair racist treatment by police for innocent people. But what’s to be done about gang violence? Can the communities fix it on their own? And I can feel for the police: having to put their lives on the line to try to reduce the domestic violence, the gang violence, to deal with the frustrations the community feels due to poverty, immigration issues, drug addiction, etc. And when they DO do something, they are criticized, people taking photos with their phones, using pent-up frustration and anger to add to hatred of the police. If you were in either position—the police or the community members, how would you feel? My God, it’s horrible!
Where do we start? I think it must be the compassionate feeling into of what both (and all) sides are experiencing. Understanding. And while we’re at it, let’s DO broaden the whole thing so it doesn’t seem that black and brown lives are the only ones experiencing frustration and suffering. How about women who’ve been discriminated much longer than any particular race has? And how women of color have been violated by men of color all over the world? And how about children who have been deeply injured and abused by violent and wounded parents? And, and, and.
We are in this together. We have ALL been wounded. Let’s take the ego out of it, stop thinking we alone are so special because we’ve been treated badly or unfairly. Let’s get together to find mutually workable, truly GOOD solutions, not based on taking sides or one-upping each other. That is so OLD! Let’s get with the new consciousness that is dawning on the planet. . .

Fellowship & the Soulgroup, Part 2: Understanding the Soulgroup & the Destiny Body

Do you feel you’ve met people you’ve known before, people you inexplicably resonate with, who share similar ideas and a similar life quest? Do these people often seem more like family than your family of origin? I believe we are part of these resonant, morphological fields of groups of souls, these families of like-minded others, and some of them are alive in a body now — some may be in your family of origin, or in your group of friends or colleagues. Others exist nonphysically in higher dimensions and you might connect with them in dreams or meditation. The concept of spiritual family or the soulgroup is entering mass consciousness now.
A soulgroup is a cluster of beings who have evolved to a common frequency, or level of consciousness, which means they have matching philosophies, worldviews, morality, and motivation. The personalities of these souls will seem quite similar when they meet in the physical world. They’ll have parallel upbringings, interests, life transitions, life experiences, values, and goals.
Meeting a Member of My Soulgroup
I remember the night I was “set up” by friends to meet trance medium Kevin Ryerson, who I’d previously met briefly at a couple of his public trance channellings. He didn’t remember me in the slightest the second time I introduced myself — but of course he’d just come out of a deep trance state. . . But now he was in need of a business manager, and our mutual friends thought I’d be perfect. So he rang my doorbell and I answered it, and he greeted me with full-on enthusiastic recognition—and: we both had on matching salmon pink shirts. His was an insulated underwear- type long-sleeved T-shirt and mine was a silk blouse. We stared at each other and he laughed and said, “I think this must have been set up several lifetimes ago!”
We worked together for four years, and in that time I discovered that we were both Leos, had the same basic numerology charts, both our mothers had been nicknamed “Skip,” we’d both grown up in Ohio, and both had been graphic designers. We both had connections to past lives in Egypt and the Essenes. In our work together, he lived at my house when he visited San Francisco every two weeks, and we conducted something like a spiritual learning center.
We had many evening readings together and in one, Kevin’s entities told me that he and I were like twin souls. It didn’t mean we were what some consider twin flames, but that we were part of a soulgroup, and we had evolved in such a parallel way that we could have actually been each other! Throughout our working relationship, we continued to have a predilection to want to understand and support each other. And though we’re separated by much water under the bridge, we still reconnect with the same feeling whenever the need arises.
Similarly, you may first become aware of a few scattered members of your soulgroup with whom you share special bonds. The experience is typically light-hearted and magical with great rapport. Over time, you may find that the group expands — some people stay close, and some live at a distance yet feel deeply intimate. People come and go but the feeling of communion remains. Your soulgroup contains earthly friends, both present and absent, as well as all your friends in spirit — your guides, teachers, ancestors, and loved ones who have died.
I think it’s important for us to start to have conscious gatherings with our soulgroup, both in meditation and socially in real life. First, it helps us realize that we are not alone, that we have support from people who want us to be good and successful. We need to know there are wise people who know us, to whom we can turn for guidance when we need it. When you’re quiet and imagine them, they immediately imagine you — and you’re connected. Whatever you need to know is just there in the space with you. By imagining them regularly, your body adjusts and stabilizes at the higher frequency of the group, the way a tuning fork transmits its resonance. This is because you remind each other of the elegance, effortlessness, and beauty of spiritual principles. And then you progress rapidly in your spiritual growth.
I don’t know about you, but for me it can be difficult to imagine what “God” is because it’s such an infinite reality. I know I’m supposed to have faith, but if I can’t feel or imagine the divine, it’s hard to know it’s real. By imagining my soulgroup, I can move up to an interim step between my personal reality and the “God” reality. It’s not so hard to experience this group, and once there, I can learn to jump up another level. So the soulgroup can be a stepping-stone to experiencing more of our divine source.
Treat Others Like They’re in Your Soulgroup
What if the people who trouble or misunderstand you are in your soulgroup, too? What if some of the people on your wavelength are there to help you dislodge the last remnants of old limiting beliefs and emotional wounds so you can be more available to the soulgroup? I think we are often of service to each other in this way.
It’s a good practice to see that each person who comes to you is a gift, a messenger, and they allow the soulgroup’s collective wisdom to remind you of higher truths as you learn to connect with others. This practice helps me remember that there is no hierarchy of souls, that each person who shows up is wise and has a message to give that is perfect for the moment. Whatever comes out of their mouth is exactly what I need. Everything they think of to do is like me thinking of it. Since I’ve been practicing this I’ve had a shift in the quality of my personal relationships.
With grace, when we practice this sort of inclusiveness, openness, and non-defensiveness, the other person can allow me to be the messenger of the divine to serve them as well; they can have the insight that whatever I say is perfect for them — and this trust thing starts building.
Here’s something you can do to entertain yourself: Allow yourself to be a spokesperson for your soulgroup. “Okay! Here’s my mouth. Here’s my brain. Here are my hands, my feet. I’ll go where I’m directed by my intuition, I’ll talk to the people I reach, and say the things that want to be said.” Let your group’s wisdom guide you. Be willing to receive new thoughts. Let the Flow move you and realize that a big part of the Flow is actually composed of your soulgroup wisdom. “We” are collaborating to create the Flow. When you include the soulgroup in what happens, things turn around and miracles occur. You serve them and they serve you.
The Destiny Body Model of Awareness and Reality
I was in working Japan for five weeks on one trip, doing readings almost every day, working with an interpreter. It was wonderful and stressful. I’d go outside, couldn’t read the signs or understand anything, was overwhelmed with more people than I’d ever experienced, and was simultaneously feeling very isolated.
My dream life became hyperactive and I had one especially powerful, revelatory dream. A man in a spaceship came down and gave me instructions about what I was to do next in the work of my soulgroup. I forgot it, of course, in the morning. It was my day off, so at breakfast I started writing in my journal. As ideas popped into my head, I wrote them down. I wrote for three hours. I was given a new way of thinking, or maybe an ancient way of thinking, about reality. I knew this is what my dream instructions had been about. Let me see if I can describe this to you, because it relates to fellowship and the soulgroup.
I was given the image of threads of light connecting every living being, every event, every thought. It was like a huge spherical grid of light tracks, and where lines crossed there were nodules of light that glowed; this was where events and meetings occurred. Inside that gridwork was a little section that was lit up brilliantly. This part they called the active tracks, and it corresponded with the place where my own physical body was in any given moment. So the active tracks are my present moment, my personal reality.
They said the whole grid is my destiny and it includes all the tracks of my life actions and events, and the people and things I would be involved with. As I grow and evolve, I include more and more of the lines and nodules of light within myself and eventually the entire grid becomes my body of knowledge — and my Self. As that happens, I understand myself to be more and more of a collective being.
I was fascinated by the fact that they tied together the concept of destiny and body. My destiny and my vast body of knowledge, or reality, or Self, are the same thing. I could see that our physical body is the nucleus of that vast body, which is a conglomeration of experiences through time and space. Just as we have nerves and acupuncture lines in our physical body, there is a similar, more macrocosmic version of a body beyond us, with lines and tracks of a more universal nature.
Misbehaving in the Light Grid
They continued to explain that when we don’t feel much of a sense of self — what might be called lack of “self-worth,” we don’t stay in the present moment, in our active tracks. We go projecting off into the future or past with our mind, or we project into someone else’s reality. “I’d like to be like her!” And I imagine myself over there and I merge with her, and then I feel her reality. They said that I often took my mind into another “quadrant,” or section of the destiny body, because I hadn’t fully experienced my own self-worth yet. I was looking into my future for things that were more interesting and exciting. Unconsciously, I assumed if I started to play over there I’d feel better. Or I’d go into someone else’s life pattern and say, “Maybe my work should be like that.” When I found something interesting over there, I’d put my attention in that nodule and it would start to light up and become active. They said that what makes a section of the grid light up is the conscious mind, or living attention, merging with the tracks. When you merge into them totally, the reality materializes.
Okay! Well, here’s my body over here and I’ve projected over there into another section of the grid and I’m paying attention to that and it’s starting to light up. It rises up like a wave in the ocean, and sends out ripples of electromagnetic energy. What happens is that I create a wave through the grid, but it’s a wave of distortion coming from another present moment back to the actual present moment I’m in. It hits my physical body and reality, and this is experienced by the physical body as confusion and grief; grief because you feel separate from the thing you think you want.
They said that to the exact proportion that you “displace” out of the active tracks of your own present moment into some other place, you will experience the exact percentage of distortion in your present reality. By distortion they meant negative emotions, snags, missed opportunities, unfulfilled desires, and feelings of being out of sync — like timing that isn’t right, or nobody is cooperating.
To the extent that you stay in the present moment in your active tracks with a feeling of deservingness and enjoyment of what you have, your life would materialize with grace. Everything would flow to you and fall in your lap with no distortion. They said that the distortion creates negative emotion. Negative emotions especially are a distortion of what should be. When you are using your perception correctly you won’t have negative emotional realities. You have sensitivity, but not emotion. You have awareness.
The other thing that happens when you displace yourself out of your active tracks and start to activate another nodule on the grid, and send out ripples and pulses, is you send subtle energetic messages to the people who are supposed to be meeting with you in that other reality that say, “Hey, I’m over here now. Come on and meet me.” And they’re somewhere else in their active tracks, not there yet. So you send waves into other people’s realities and distort their ability to be in harmony and function properly, as well as into your own.
They said if I really wanted to be of the highest service, I’d realize that I don’t want to interfere with another person’s free will and destiny. There is such a thing as natural timing that occurs in the totality of the grid’s functioning. I knew I didn’t want to make life more difficult for anyone.
A Large Soulgroup of Earth Weavers
Another part of the explanation was that there is a group of beings who work with the grid — the destiny body — who, when parts of the grid get too chaotic because of mind distortion, move about the planet in both the physical and nonphysical realities to calm things and “massage” the grid back into harmony so it doesn’t “rip” as the result of some sort of psychic storm.
It’s crucial that the energetic fabric of this planet stay together. They said that whenever you are feeling distortion in your own life, someone will be sent to help massage you back into right thinking, right perception. If you are becoming conscious and have vowed to be of service, you won’t get very far with ignorance these days. You will be able to be returned to the center of your active tracks very quickly now, so relax. And of course, if you wish, you will be directed to do that for other people, too. This whole “lesson” I’d been given was to show me the inner workings of the great human soulgroup and the importance of fellowship — that fellowship is the natural, harmonious functioning of our collective consciousness based on love.
This destiny body model reminded me that there is a geometric, energetic underpinning to our reality. And that there is a correct, or skillful way, to use my perception — that the way I use my mind actually affects the reality of all other people. Of course, in my work doing visioning for people I realized that there was a way to do it that creates distortion, and a way that doesn’t. They said that when you expand into a visionary state of consciousness, it’s okay to move out through this destiny body and see the “future” and “past” — really just different possible realities existing at different frequencies — and to know things. But it must be done in a way that doesn’t have willpower or ego attached to it.
Before, I had been looking into something with desire, like, “I want the answer to that.” It was willpower that caused the waves, the reaction, because it comes from the idea that I don’t have the thing I want—when actually I already do have it and haven’t recognized it yet. They explained there is a softer way to know: you relax in trust and just expand out. You feel the whole destiny body as your own body. As you move back and forth through the destiny body this way, you’re just “being with” it, including it. That movement helps sustain and nourish the whole because the entirety is loved and simply acknowledged by your presence and consciousness. As long as you don’t feel you need to know or act on anything. Where there is trust in the moment, you can impersonally know the whole personally, and yet stay fully present within the lit up active tracks of your personal reality.
From this destiny body model I also get the feeling of how all people and events are interconnected, interdependent, and cocreating each other. The image I received was that when all people can consciously expand out through the entire destiny body without making waves — when we do it in a concerted way — the planet will be enlightened.
To conclude, I suggest you might use the image of the soulgroup and the streams of light coming into your body at night before you go to sleep. Lie down and receive the threads of light from all directions and let yourself be nurtured and softened. As you go to sleep imagine that your body is not dropping down, not falling into sleep, but expanding out to merge into more of your soulgroup, then the great soulgroup of humanity and the earth — the destiny body — so that you are becoming a big ball of light at night. See if that image works for you and see what happens to your dreams and waking life. I have a feeling you’re going to meet the people you are destined to work with very soon, and that you’ll see how the real work of our soulgroup in uplifting our planet and humanity is already underway.

Fellowship & the Soulgroup, Part 1: Understanding Fellowship & Conscious Communion

As an “expert intuitive,” I was involved for many years as a staff member with The Center for Applied Intuition in San Francisco. Part of their vision was of a group of intuitives or spiritual teachers who would work together, individually and in teams, to serve private industry and the public. That excited me because I’ve always held a vision of independent, spiritually-oriented colleagues who could collaborate and truly support each other, and whose work was complementary. I was disappointed, though, that many of the people were so caught in a need for recognition that they had trouble cooperating and cocreating. Even though they advocated living by spiritual principles, they were still afraid of losing clients to a colleague. I was let down, but the vision of a truly collaborative group of associates still persists.
As long as I can remember, whenever I access higher levels of information intuitively, I see a council or a collective group consciousness, rather than a single spiritual guide or wise soul at the top of a hierarchy. When I enter a meditative state, I experience merging with the collective knowledge of this group mind. If I soften and expand myself, I encompass more and more of it. Whatever comes through me comes from that pool of knowledge. In this model, knowledge is shared equally, given freely, and there is plenty for all. Perhaps this has contributed to my sense that in this earthly world there should be a similar reflection of that organizational pattern where each person is a unique filter for wisdom. And, of course, I’m disappointed when human fears and ego get in the way.
I’ve had a feeling for a long time that I belong to a group of souls who are parallel to me in development — a soulgroup. This is no doubt the “council” I’ve been seeing in my mind. Many people I work with feel their genetic family is not their “real” family. They sense intuitively that there is another family — a spiritual one — that they belong to. They’re always muttering under their breath, “Where are my people?”
Do you feel you’ve met people you’ve known before, people you inexplicably resonate with, who share similar ideas and a similar life quest? Do these people often seem more like family than your family of origin? I believe we are part of these resonant, morphological fields of groups of souls, these families of like-minded others, and some of them are alive in a body now — some may be in your family of origin, or they may be in your group of friends or colleagues. Others exist nonphysically in higher dimensions and you might connect with them in dreams or meditation. The concept of spiritual family or the soulgroup is entering mass consciousness now. And this relates strongly to the idea of fellowship.
What Is Fellowship?
I think fellowship begins with the “end of contest.” I’d like to make a subtle distinction between contest and competition. Let’s say that contest is where ego is involved, where you are winning for the sake of winning, and the spirit of play, of the game, is not there. In contest you’re caught in polarization; in competition you’re going the same direction. Bit by bit we’re shifting from this oppositional, better-or-worse-than-thou stance to a spirit of cooperative competition.
I remember Tom Peters, the management guru, describing how one company actually gave their secrets to their competitors; they made it into a game to help their competitors so they could all perform more effectively and pleasurably. Teams in their production facility helped each other, but competed with each other at the same time. This way everyone evolved to a higher level. So fellowship has to do with coming together with the idea that everything you do helps further the other person’s growth somehow.
Fellowship really comes from practicing the Golden Rule: you are your brother’s and sister’s keeper and they are your keeper. We care for and protect our “relations.” If we want the best for ourselves, we learn that provision comes from those we tend, so giving them what they need is what motivates them to do the same for us. Yet the Golden Rule can become a hackneyed phrase that we repeat occasionally but don’t take to heart and live as if our life depended on it. The more you practice it, the more you understand that our lives do depend on it. The idea is to treat the other person as though they are you, and to imagine in great detail how you would feel standing in their body. The truth is that hurting another really does hurt you.
When you experience the essence of things in your innermost reality, you find there truly is a one-selfness in all sentient beings, and a one-vitality or livingness in all things. We know it in our head, but it takes some focus to feel it and practice feeling it until we convince ourselves it’s the true reality. We’re currently convinced that we are separate beings, largely because of our old linear, here vs. there, physical vs. nonphysical perceptual reality. Our thought process itself is powerful enough to divide us and cause gaps in time and space. Unless you meditate and practice dropping down inside yourself, underneath form, to what’s in the being realm, you don’t really experience The Golden Rule.
The State of Fellowship: Conscious Communion and Cocreation
Fellowship is actually a state of consciousness, what I often term conscious communion. This is a kind of perception where you experience that one energy connects all living things, moving continually in waves through a unified field of consciousness. Knowledge from one form carries into all others. Everything knows about everything else and shares energy with everything else. Both animate and inanimate things are in communion all the time, but our mind is often not in the communion state with them. Our mind easily separates from the natural interrelatedness of life and nature because we can imagine jumping out of the here-and-now into other times, spaces, and realities. Each time we leave the communion experience, or fellowship state, we feel fear and isolation and begin to suffer.
To experience conscious communion, your mind must be centered inside your body, in the present moment, and you must settle down, become quiet, open to trust, and pay attention to what’s showing up within arm’s reach. Then your attention merges with the world and you experience unity. It is through conscious communion that we learn to understand how fellowship works.
What Cocreation Teaches Us
Cocreation is another concept that helps us understand the experience of fellowship. We know that we create our reality by the thoughts and level of vibration we radiate. I populate my world each day, as do you, with various characters who represent parts of myself I’m interested in becoming aware of. Sometimes our needs, and thus our worlds, overlap and contain similar ideas and frequencies — and it’s then when we appear in each other’s worlds and interact. This is a kind of cocreativity in which I include others in my “bubble” and they include me in theirs—the result being that we cocreate a mutually shared reality from our collective wisdom and need.
At a deeper level, I realize the decisions I make in my life affect your life, and vice versa. Similarly, my creativity helps you be creative and your creativity feeds mine. I provide you with either more or less permission and space in which to act and create. You do the same for me. Judgment shuts us down. Acceptance opens us up. This is clear with people we’re close to — we obviously impact each other. But even people who are distant from you, the ones you don’t know — their decisions affect your life too, and your decisions affect theirs.
In the inner realms, we are directly interconnected — with no time and space separation — so even someone’s sarcasm can feel like a mini act of violence. Or someone’s kindness to another can feel like a personal rescue. We are affected, even though our left brain tells us it’s “distant, impersonal, and not that important.”
So we are cocreating a shared reality in which we all show up in each other’s imaginations; the outer manifestation of what happens in the world is a result of the collective decisions and actions the entire populace of the globe makes day-by-day, minute-by-minute. It’s a constantly shifting reality and it’s able to change on a dime as the choices of the people change.
What I Learned from Working in Japan
I learned a lot about fellowship from working in Japan for over twenty years. There is such an internal interconnectedness there — everyone knows they affect everyone else, and they can’t just run away when they’re uncomfortable because the country is too small. Taking care of each other’s inner well-being is a core motive in the culture. Because of that, it’s almost impolite to have an opinion, because you might stand out too much and the flow of the group would divert and go your way — and then you’d be embarrassed for being so egotistical. Equal contribution of all group members would not be able to occur. So, group problem-solving proceeds in a mysterious way, where no one says much directly, but a seemingly aimless discussion proceeds for an inordinate amount of time until finally the solution seems to emerge by itself. Everyone wins, no one loses face. We can learn about inner connectedness and the cohesiveness of groups from Asian cultures and they can learn a little more about authenticity and individuality from us.
True, enlightened fellowship needs both a strong, clear, individual consciousness — one not caught up in ego — and a cooperative, empathic group consciousness, to function optimally. Without respect for the personal identity, originality and personal growth suffer. Without respect for the group identity, harmony and nurturing suffer. Without strong individual awareness, self-sacrifice runs rampant. Without strong group sensitivity, alienation and violence abound. So, with true fellowship, the individual is respected as a source of innovation and growth and the collective consciousness is respected as a source of harmonious organization and integration.
Entering the Experience of Fellowship
When I want to shift into a deeper experience of fellowship, I begin by meditating on, and feeling into, the divine presence. I affirm that a higher sanity and orderliness of universal laws is inherent in all the particles of my body. As soon as I’m saturated with that feeling, my awareness spreads out and I notice the environment and how the same presence and light is in the air around my body and in all the atoms of matter. I then notice a homogeneity of energy moving through all things and that there is a kind of personalness suddenly — that because there is no separation between myself and other things, then the air must know me.
The tree must be aware of me because we’re made of the same stuff. There is a familiarity and a cozy family feeling then with all the forms of life. And suddenly there is a flow of joy: Everybody knows me! Nothing is separate from me. I have friends everywhere! It makes me feel safe. And you know how, when a child feels safe and protected, they play and show off unselfconsciously? I feel that way, like I want to play, like I want to move beyond my comfort zone, beyond the little bubble I’ve defined as myself.
So, what used to be impersonal becomes personal. I see I have a personal relationship with life. Conversely, my personal issues and agendas become less personal. Everything I thought was so important, all my identity — I don’t own it alone, but share it. It doesn’t need promotion and protection. Why give my stuff so much attention when I’m in everything! It’s too boring to stay so small all the time.
With fellowship, there is a feeling of mutual containment, like I expand out and contain all of you in my bubble of reality. You are in my awareness, in my field of energy, which is sentient. If you expand and include me in your bubble or body of awareness, and everybody else expands and includes everybody else in their bubble of awareness, we get this one bubble of all our merged selves, and that’s what we call “reality.” It’s a collaboration. All these bubbles, each containing each other out of choice. Doesn’t that feel better than our usual view of an inimical world locked in contest?
ME and US
If I keep paying attention, I have a new experience of ME. There is an US that is me. Actually, I am a “Me-Us.” You and I are this big, collective self, and we’re also still the individual Penney, or Josh, or Megan. We’re like a huge sphere, the Us-ball, with each individual experiencing itself as the central nucleus. To understand fellowship, we must be able to live with this paradox of I’m Penney and I’m the whole. We have to be willing to be authentic, to be loyal to what’s emerging from the Me in the moment.
By doing this, we discover, and quite joyfully, that we are not limited by our past at all, that we are new every second. We experience that the source of our creativity and knowledge is not our own puny, limited past history. We can access insight from our soulgroup, from the entire history of the planet, from all the souls who have ever lived, in all their lifetimes, everywhere, in every time period. Our resources are truly unlimited. So, by trusting the others who are cocreating this world with us, and by being loyal to the divine power that sends consciousness through us all, we become enlightened, both as individuals and as groups, through the power of fellowship.
Fellowship occurs when we are authentic individuals and feel how we belong in the larger scheme of things. It occurs when we are loyal to the creativity that wants to emerge through us, and in the group, and we serve that emergence. Fellowship causes us to become aware of like-minded groups whose members have similar levels of development. And through this we grow in wisdom and kindness.

Alternate or Spiritual Healing: Should It Be Free?

A friend—a talented healer who keeps her rates very reasonable—called the other day saying that one of her acquaintances had told her that “healing should be free.” And what did I think about that?
I know it’s a common belief. It seems that the idea of healing—faith healing, supernatural healing, divine healing, or miracle healing—probably became formalized and regimented via the Christian church. Only certain people were considered to possess the ability to heal—one of the spiritual gifts of the Holy Spirit. It was thought that the various gifts of healing were supernatural enablements given to a believer to minister to others through the power of the Holy Spirit. And, of course, to be “a pure channel” there could not be payment, for that might cheapen or taint the process.
But healing via connection with higher vibration and consciousness has existed since the beginning of time. We have always known that energy—that amazing, invisible force—can do powerful things, especially when directed by consciousness—that other amazing, invisible force—whether it be for productive, positive ends or destructive, negative ones. Certainly shamans and medicine people through the ages have taken for granted that healing and higher states of consciousness go hand in hand. And that many physical ailments have their roots in the nonphysical realms of energy, emotion, and belief.
Is Money the Root of All Evil? Or Just a Form of Energy?
That healing should be free may stem from the belief many people still hold that money is the root of all evil, and that its very materialism can distort the motive required for “faith” healing and dilute the results. We all know there have been countless times throughout history, right up to today, when spiritual principles and truth were compromised for personal financial gain. From snake oil salesmen, to corrupt ministers, to false prophets, to doctors with god complexes, the healing profession, like every other profession, has fallen victim to scammers and incompetence. Without a real connection to spiritual truth and experience, it’s easy for money to become a religion of its own, and for us to dramatically polarize wealth and spirituality. The two worlds can seem mutually exclusive, when really, they’re not. Money is a neutral force and only becomes a distraction when there is too much ego and too little sense of self-as-soul.
I know a number of people whose life purpose is spiritual healing, who truly have a gift and a mission, and who focus largely through the right brain and direct experience. I know others whose life work is medicine or surgery, who focus largely through the left brain and science. If we could balance the hemispheres of our brain, using them equally, these tendencies might blend into a new kind of highly effective intuitive-scientific healer-physician. But until then, both forms of healing are valuable and are career paths just as much as design, accounting, or professional athleticism are. Excellence in any endeavor is the result of love and attention. Money can simply act as validation of that attitude and of one’s well-earned skill.
Who Is Worthy of Their Hire?
It is assumed that physicians are worthy of being paid, and paid highly, because they’ve studied science rigorously, are obviously smart, have practiced as interns, and have diplomas. But healers have studied, too; many on a spiritual path have been at it for years, clearing themselves of emotional wounds and negative thinking, and even physical illnesses, in their attempt to become clear, transparent, and wise. Some have studied Asian forms of healing that restore energy flow and balance, or have worked with nutrition and other subtle remedies, or with neuroplasticity and mind-body techniques. There’s no reason that alternative medicine practitioners and spiritual healers—who work largely with consciousness and energy—should not be “worthy of their hire.” We all deserve to be paid for our time, attention, and expertise.
Vague and Unpredictable Results
There is much vagary in the results attained by spiritual and alternative healing methods. Sometimes the shift is spectacular and sometimes so-subtle-it’s-hard-to-tell. Just as it doesn’t usually work for an intuitive to respond accurately to a pointed, demanding question like, “What are the winning lottery numbers?” or “When will my mother die?” or “Who kidnapped the senator’s daughter?” the results of healing can be caused—or skewed—by many subtle factors.
The work is performed at nonphysical levels and can’t be seen through a microscope or explained by the rational mind. That a cancerous tumor might disappear can only be described by physicians as a mysterious remission, for example. The deeper reason might be that the heart opened and the penetrating energy of love doubled or tripled the strength of the immune system, or the disturbance was cleared in the energy body and immediately dissolved the materialization of its physical counterpart in the body. There are reasons that energy and consciousness work, but they are not yet understood or believed by the left brain.
When my mother was eight, she spent the summer at her aunt and uncle’s farm in Ohio. She told the story of a healer who used to walk between the farms. One day, the healer walked up to their house and asked if anyone needed anything. Her aunt said, “Take a look at Ruth; she has a big lump on her forehead.” Indeed, she had a big cyst-like bump over one eyebrow. The man bent down, examined it, put his thumb on it, looked in her eyes, and said gently, “Oh, this little thing? Why, it will be gone in a few days.” And, it was! Why? Perhaps my mother’s innocence and openness and the nonjudgmental attitude of her aunt allowed energy to freely take shape as the healer envisioned it.
I, too, have had some miraculous results from healers. A broken bone knit back together spontaneously, a tumor dissolved within minutes, and more subtly, I’ve had many experiences of chronic negative emotional and energetic patterns clearing permanently. Other times, the healing felt good but there were no discernable results. I always assumed, though, that every healing actually did do something to further my clarity.
The results of healing can be diverse—perhaps it’s that you get what you need, not what you think you want. Or maybe it’s that something in you blocks the integration of the change of state. Sometimes healing helps dissolve a block—mental, emotional, energetic, or physical—but it’s not recognized because the person is so used to their old reality that they re-create the problem out of habit. Or the healing takes the lid off a fear-based memory that needs to be cleared and the person may feel worse afterward. Or it helps clear the amount of a blockage that the person can handle and more sessions are required after integration occurs for the next levels to be cleared.
The results physicians achieve can be just as vague. Maybe people don’t follow the protocol, maybe their body is highly susceptible to toxicity and the side effects of anesthesia. Maybe the doctor is in a hurry, doesn’t listen closely enough to the patient, and prescribes the wrong medication. Maybe a surgery caused new problems or an x-ray was read incorrectly.
So when results don’t measure up to expectations, should you have to pay? Is someone at fault? But what was expected? What was promised? Did the practitioner explain what they sensed needed to happen? Were you respected and treated sensitively? Were you given “homework” to do to help the treatment integrate? Did you describe your situation clearly and fully and ask for what you wanted? Did you follow through with recommendations? Perhaps you don’t see the result because it occurred at an energetic level and will take time to filter down into form. We’re expected to pay physicians and psychiatrists, even when results aren’t totally clear, but healers don’t yet exact the same respect. Perhaps this is a bias based on the idea that the physical world is “real,” and the nonphysical world is not.
Equal Exchange and Being Invested
For healing to work effectively, you must be invested in the process. You must want to be healed—not just be sort of hopeful. You must trust your practitioner and not tell them how to heal you. Ask for what you think you need and if more is given, or if it comes in a way you didn’t expect, it’s gravy! The healer isn’t responsible for your healing—she or he is a catalyst to help you realign with your true state of harmony and beauty. They create a field of truth and love and help you resonate to it. Together you and the healer have power—not one or the other. The healer focuses undivided attention and skill on you in a way that reminds you of who you really are. You actually heal yourself, by choosing (consciously or unconsciously) to shift out of contracted states of being into wholeness.
There is a subtle balance between taking ownership of your own healing while simultaneously trusting and empowering another to help you. It’s easy to feel guilty and ashamed that you’ve done something “wrong” and that’s why you’re sick or in pain. That can lead you to do nothing to help yourself or to do everything by yourself to help yourself. It’s actually an act of healing to ask for help from someone who knows what they’re doing. On the other hand, you might constantly ask others for help and never receive the healing because getting the attention is the real game. You might give all the power to the healer and take none for yourself. You might not ask for what you need and expect the healer to know everything. You might not vet the healer well beforehand and end up feeling cheated later. It doesn’t work to have your head in the sand or in the clouds.
For healing to occur and integrate, it’s important to have an equal energy exchange. We think of healing as an exchange but really it’s about equal energy matching. Successful healings happen when the healer gives 100% and you give 100%. If an uneven exchange or matching occurs, the healing will be partial. If the healer gives 100% and you give 50%, or vice versa, you’re both likely to get half the results you expect and both of you can feel let down. Healing works on both people at once, in different ways. You may not receive much value while the healer might feel unsupported or doubt their own worth.
For healing to integrate, the energy from both parties must be equal and meet in the middle. Paying for healing is part of the exchange and part of the commitment to heal. It’s a symbolic act, a ritual of sorts, that benefits everyone. Healers or midwives in times past were paid with eggs, milk, part of a butchered pig, or a pie perhaps. Healers who were ministers or nuns were supported by their church. Payment in the nonphysical realms comes in the form of an expanded experience of love and the divine. In the physical world, payment needs to be physical. That is part of our investment in ourselves, as well as gratitude for the healer.
