S.I. Almanza was born and raised in Portsmouth, England. In school, English was his favourite subject, specifically creative writing. He would write stories for schoolwork and recreationally at home, often scoring top of the class for his writing.

Almanza is a former prison officer, bouncer, and security professional, working in chaotic roles and locations up and down the country. Many of these roles included managing a team of security professionals. He currently works for a company, in partnership with the city council as a senior support worker in a high-risk, high-support, homeless accommodation unit.
