Liz Collin’s viral article shines national spotlight on questions about George Floyd case

Along with her investigative reporting, Alpha News reporter Liz Collin has produced a crowdfunded documentary, The Fall of Minneapolis. The documentary is being presented and released by Alpha News on Nov. 16.

A recent Alpha News article written by Liz Collin explains how at least two prosecutors were reluctant to charge former Minneapolis police officers for the murder of George Floyd in 2020.

Court testimony from an unrelated case reveals a conversation between Hennepin County prosecutor Amy Sweasy and Dr. Andrew Baker, the medical examiner who conducted the autopsy of George Floyd. Sweasy recalled that Dr. Baker “called me later in the day on that Tuesday and he told me that there were no medical findings that showed any injury to the vital structures of Mr. Floyd’s neck. There were no medical indications of asphyxia or strangulation.”

Sweasy also testified that Dr. Baker asked, “Amy, what happens when the actual evidence doesn’t match up with the public narrative that everyone’s already decided on?’ And then he said, ‘This is the kind of case that ends careers.’”

Collin’s article has attracted millions of views and commentary from Tucker Carlson, Andy Ngo, Matt Walsh, The American Spectator, American Greatness, The Post Millennial, and other media personalities and publishers. It also prompted so-called “fact-checking” from Newsweek.

While Sweasy’s testimony may have attracted attention recently, Collin explained that “this isn’t anything new.” She featured some of the notes taken by prosecutors along with Dr. Baker’s original findings in her book, “They’re Lying: The Media, The Left, and The Death of George Floyd,” which was published last year.

In one of the memos, prosecutors noted that if George Floyd were found at home, it “could be acceptable to call an OD.” The memos also indicate the results of the toxicology report: Mr. Floyd had 11 ng/ml of fentanyl in his system and that “deaths have been certified w/levels of 3,” according to Dr. Baker.

Another memo corroborates two of the most significant findings from the autopsy: 1) multiple factors likely contributed to Floyd’s death; and 2) no physical signs of asphyxia or bodily injury were found, according to Dr. Baker.

Collin said she included the memos in her book to let people see the facts for themselves. She also wanted to document how the prosecutors violated rules of conduct in meeting with Dr. Baker. Consequently, three prosecutors and former Hennepin County Attorney Mike Freeman were banned from working on the case against Chauvin and the three other police officers.

While Collin appreciates the recent attention to the case, she did not expect the article to receive much attention. “I didn’t expect much because I’ve been speaking out about the lies and lack of impartiality in this case for years. So, I’m even more grateful that a lot more people are starting to see through the lies that politicians, the media, and so-called activists have been telling us for far too long,” she said.

Former police officers Derek Chauvin, Alex Kueng, Thomas Lane, and Tou Thao are currently serving prison sentences for the “murder” of Floyd. Chauvin, who continues to fight for a fair and impartial trial, was sentenced to 22.5 years in prison and has recently filed an appeal with the U.S. Supreme Court.

The article is just one part of Collin’s commitment to telling the truth about this case. Along with her investigative reporting, she has produced a crowdfunded documentary, The Fall of Minneapolis. The documentary is being presented and released by Alpha News on Nov. 16.

The Truth Travels…

While I’ve been traveling throughout Minnesota to talk about my book, They’re Lying: The Media, The Left, and The Death of George Floyd, it seems those who have the courage to seek the truth have been doing the same.

In fact, those with the courage to read the facts for themselves have been spotted reading the book on the back of a motorcycle and even on a catamaran in Canada.

I cannot thank those of you have read the book for your support in helping to spread the truth. Through your courage to speak up, has reached across the globe—and inspired an upcoming documentary.

Based on the book, the crowdfunded documentary The Fall of Minneapolis will be released for free this November.

In the meantime, please watch the trailer and share with your friends and family.

And please be sure to share some of the off-the-beaten-path places where you may have read and shared the book!

About the documentary…

I’m not sure where to start in expressing my gratitude to everyone who has believed in me and encouraged me to write my book—I’m truly beyond grateful.

Since the book was published six months ago, Bob and I have hit the road and traveled across Minnesota: from my hometown of Worthington, to Bemidji, to Rochester, Brainerd, and many places in between.

We’ve met so many amazing people who’ve inspired me even more…

While many venues are still afraid of protesters, we’ve been welcomed at book clubs, VFW posts, Eagles Clubs, churches, bars (Bob’s favorite) and not just one—but two airport hangers—by people who stand behind our mission to let the truth be told.

People who were once strangers have now become dear friends. And people from all over Minnesota have invited us to their events. We will never be able to thank you all enough for all of your kind words and support. You’ve truly helped to fight back against those who aren’t willing to listen or recognize the facts.

Because of all of your encouragement, I’ve found the strength and inspiration to take the bold next step in this mission: producing a documentary.

The documentary will help bring even more of the truth to light and let others tell their own stories in their own words.

Since the book was published, more people have found the courage to come forward and speak out about the deep-rooted lies and corruption.

To help tell their stories—and to make this crowdfunded documentary a reality—I’m humbly asking for your support.

I’ve been working with Defend The Heroes, a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting law enforcement and uncovering the facts about crime and public safety. This is a top-notch outfit that’s already done so much to help behind the scenes (and their directors volunteer their time and expertise).

Donations for the documentary are tax-deductible and will go directly to pay for production costs.

We’re planning to release the movie this fall.

With more book stops ahead in May and June, I hope you will please stop by and say hello (or talk about how this has affected us all).

Again, with utmost sincerity and gratitude, thank you!

—Liz Collin

The Afterword by Avery Severson

There are a lot of things in the book that have been challenging. Likewise, writing the book and fighting against cancel culture has been challenging as well. However, Avery Severson—who wrote the afterword—certainly faced challenges that few of us could imagine.

So-called peaceful protests…

Avery was there when BLM protesters were outside our house and Minnesota representative-elect John Thompson spoke to the crowd. Well, maybe it’s better to say that Thompson was screaming at the crowd, particularly the “white people” in the neighborhood, including Avery.

See for yourself…

A race-based hoax…

As if that wasn’t bad enough, Avery was later targeted in a race-based hoax at her high-school. In April, 2021, another student at her school shared hateful racist remarks on social media and claimed that Avery wrote them.

Students and teachers held protests and a walk-out.

Avery was investigated by school officialsl, local law enforcement authorities, and even the FBI.

It was later discovered to be a hoax.

The student who actually sent the hoax messages was never identified.

However, Avery was publicly ridiculed, doxxed, and cancelled in the court of public opinion. Worst of all, she said that she “didn’t feel safe” in her own community.

Watch the latest video at foxnews.comPlenty of accusation, but not a single apology

None of her accusers apologized—and still haven’t in the past two years since. And none of the media outlets that eagerly published the story helped to clear her name or make any substantial corrections on her behalf. Even though White Bear Lake school officials determined it was a hoax, as Newsweek reported, the damage had already been done.

So, in many ways, I’m honored and humbled that Avery agreed to write the afterword for my book, especially considering all of her promise and potential.

But at the same time, I wish it wasn’t necessary for her to tell that chapter of her own life story…

Delays at the Hennepin County Library, or is it Lie-brary?

As Alpha News reported, the delay in circulating Liz Collin’s book They’re Lying at the Hennepin County Library in Minneapolis seems dubious.

After several demands from community members, the library administration purchased at least four copies of the book in December. The book is still not available—even though there are nearly 100 people waiting to check out the book.

Library administration blamed COVID for the delays. However, that hardly explains why the book was categorized under “Conspiracy Theories” despite the fact that every claim in the book is thoroughly supported by documented evidence.

We’re not sure what’s so theoretical about author Liz Collin receiving death threats in the mail, or the first-hand accounts from police officers who were trapped inside the Third Precinct building when it was given up to supposedly “peaceful protesters” who set it on fire, or any of the actual documents that were included in the book. But according the the Hennepin County Library, these have less to do with facts, and more to do with “conspiracy theory.”

Meanwhile the truth about this death of George Floyd, the riots, and the political corruption in Minneapolis as reported by Liz—and documented by hundreds of footnote citations—seems to be delayed. Yet the Hennepin County lie-brarians seemed to have taken the time to mislabel the book while tax-payers wait in the meantime to process a book that was published four months ago…

The Hennepin County Library staff can be contacted accordingly:

They’re Lying: Audiobook Now Available

Liz Collin’s book, They’re Lying: The Media, The Left, and The Death of George Floyd, is now available as an audiobook on Amazon and Audible.com

> Listen to a free sample

Liz not only wrote the book, she narrates it in her own voice and news reporter style. The audiobook also includes Kim Lund reading her own words along with the Afterword spoken by Avery Severson (a teenager who was also cancelled by mainstream news media).

Hearing from those who there…

The book also features others in their own words (which they probably have come to regret since). For example, it includes the gang shout-out from Reverend Jerry McAfee at the start of George Floyd’s funeral. It also includes the racist tirade from Minnesota Representative John Thompson—who screamed about the KKK in front of Liz’s house before bashing a piñata that looked like her and her husband Lt. Bob Kroll in her driveway. The words of civil rights attorney Nekima Levy Armstrong directing “black people” to take a knee under the flagpole in Liz’s yard can also be heard.

Attorney Nekima Levy Armstrong taking a knee and trespassing and taking a knee on Liz Collin’s front lawn during a BLM protest outside her house.

Minnesota Accents & More…

Book editor Dr. JC Chaix also read the words of some of the people who Liz interviewed but where unavailable during the audiobook production. Dr. Chaix explained his preparations. “It’s an honor to speak for others, but also a great responsibility. So I was truly concerned—I have a peculiar accent and tend to revert to my New York roots, especially when reading aloud with intensity. Needless to say, I had to practice saying “Sooo” and “yeah” and “nooo” with a Minnesota accent as best I could. I listened to the interviews Liz conducted over and over. I think I watched the movie Fargo at least ‘two, three, times real quick once’ in between.” Jokes aside, like Liz, he hoped to bring life and meaning to the words of others, especially since many people really haven’t heard the truth about death of George Floyd.

Liz said she hopes those who don’t “often read books” will find the audiobook helpful. Liz explained, “the book was meant for print. It was meant to be visual since it relies heavily upon facts taken from documents. So, while listeners can’t ‘see’ these documents in the audiobook, I hope it helps them hear and understand more of the truth just the same.”

Paper Birch Press, the publisher of They’re Lying both in print and as an audiobook, hopes to have key documents from the book available to audiobook listeners sometime in the near future.

Parker’s Prairie: Another “Small Town” Takes A Big Step Toward the Truth About the Death of George Floyd

While the mainstream media continues to ignore empirical facts and evidence, local newspapers and other media outlets have been consistently spreading the truth about the death of George Floyd.

For example, The Fergus Falls Daily Journal in Minnesota featured author Liz Collin and her book They’re Lying: The Media, The Left, and The Death of George Floyd—and her book signing event in Parker’s Prairie on February 11.

Heather Kantrud, the managing editor of The Fergus Falls Daily Journal, highlighted some of the praise and comments for Liz’s book, including the positive feedback from the family of former officer Derek Chauvin and J. Alexander Keung.

Some may be quick to dismiss the “small town news” as hardly anything noteworthy. However, Liz has consistently sold dozens if not hundreds of copies of her books at her local book signings. And it doesn’t look like the interest and appreciation for her efforts is about to end anytime soon. So while the mainstream media may be ignoring the facts—and their culpability in pervading lies about the death of George Floyd—it seems others are discovering the truth for themselves…

You can read the article in The Fergus Falls Daily Journal here.

As Liz explained, “I’m just in awe. No matter the weather or the location, dozens and dozens if not hundreds of people continue to show up and speak out for the truth about the riots and the death of George Floyd. So many people tell me who they were skeptical about the mainstream media, and how they found a lot more of the truth in my book. After all we’ve been through, it’s not only good to hear, knowing that others are seeking the truth keeps me going.”

Liz Collin interviews Derek Chauvin’s mom, attorney ahead of appeals hearing

Oral arguments begin today in Derek Chauvin’s state appeal. The former Minneapolis police officer is currently serving a more than 20-year prison sentence for the death of George Floyd.

The appeal is asking for one of three things:

a retrial, a reversal of conviction, or resentencing on the state conviction.

The hearing is scheduled for 9:30 a.m. Wednesday and will be livestreamed. It is expected to be a short hearing with each side receiving 15 minutes to present their case to a panel of three judges on the Minnesota Court of Appeals.

Chauvin’s attorney filed the 82-page appeal last spring, citing a biased jury and unfair trial.

William Mohrman, Chauvin’s current attorney, will argue that Chauvin did not get a fair trial in Minneapolis because of the “pervasive pretrial publicity and the riots which occurred in the Twin Cities.”

“The primary issue on this appeal is whether a criminal defendant can get a fair trial in a courthouse surrounded by concrete block, barbed wire, two armored personnel carriers and a squad of National Guard troops, all of which or whom are there for one purpose — in the event the jury acquits the criminal defendant,” he said.

A jury convicted Chauvin of second-degree murder, third-degree murder, and second-degree manslaughter in 2021.

Chauvin was transferred from Oak Park Heights prison to a federal prison in Tucson, Ariz., in August after pleading guilty to a federal civil rights charge. He will appear virtually Wednesday morning and not be brought back to Hennepin County for the appeal.

Chauvin’s mother, Carolyn Pawlenty, told Alpha News her son was wrongfully accused and did not receive a fair trial.

“The trial was based on facts that were changed, evidence withheld and false testimony. This appeal is to bring to light all the true, unedited facts of the case,” she said.

Pawlenty said she has been encouraged as more of the facts have been brought to light in the bestselling book, “They’re Lying: The Media, the Left, and the Death of George Floyd.” In response, Pawlenty said:

“I have been contacted by many supporters from around the world, who have opened their eyes to the deceit the state had fed us. Derek was wrongfully accused. It is time to correct the injustice that was perpetrated against a good, caring, innocent man. It is my mission to get the verdict reversed and to get Derek his freedom.”

—Carolyn Pawlenty (Derek Chauvin’s mother)

Typically, the Court of Appeals issues a ruling in 90 days, but it’s possible this case may take longer to decide.

Watch: Liz Collin on the NPA Report

Author and investigative reporter Liz Collin was interviewed on The National Police Association (NPA). NPA spokesperson Sergeant Betsy Brantner-Smith (retired) talked with Liz about several aspects of her book They’re Lying: The Media, The Left, and The Death of George Floyd.

While her book focuses on the death of George Floyd, Liz also discusses the aftermath of the incident, including the riots and how the Minneapolis police chief, the mayor, and the media scapegoated police officers—instead of supporting them and telling the truth.

Find out more about the National Police Association at NationalPolice.org. Aside from helping and educating supporters of law enforcement, the NPA has also been focused on a key issue that Liz has courageously fighting against as well: anti-cop rhetoric and helping to protect the freedoms of those who help protect us.
