Explore genres you haven't tried before. When you love (or hate) something you read, ask yourself why? What is that you admire, making you love a book -- or what is it that bothers you, making you dislike a book? As an example, I was thrilled when I learned Utopia Avenue was coming out, but I never made it past about halfway, because too much of it just didn't ring true to the time it was supposedly set in. Shadowy

The story of the groundhog has never quite made sense to me. As I understand it, if he sees his shadow, he runs back into his hole in the ground to wait out another six weeks of winter. But if he doesn't see it, he reckons that winter has run its course.

I've always thought that if it's sunny outside, it might well mean that spring has arrived early. But no, legend tells us the opposite. Maybe
