Where Poems Begin

Sometimes a poem begins before I know it.
In the hush of morning light, the stillness after rain, or the small sound a bird makes just before flight. These moments don’t ask for attention—they offer it.

That’s how both Poems of Nature and Forever Today began. Not with plans or outlines, but with feelings I didn’t want to forget. A breeze through tall grass. The warmth of a memory. A single word that felt like it mattered.

I write poetry to hold those moments close—and to share them in case someone else has felt them too. And I write children's books for the same reason: to remind us all, no matter how tall we grow, that wonder is still with us.

Thanks for stopping by.
